Zayd ibn Thabit

recited shahada at an early age at about 11 or 13

because of his young age he did not participate in any battle before al
ahzab/trench

had a beautiful recitation of the Quran

learnt herbrew to communicate with the jews on the Prophets behalf

became the secretary of the Prophet till his death

played leading role in compilation of Quran

during the time of Hazrat Uthman he was again asked to make a copy of
Mushaf e Hafsa and thus four copies were made

one copy for each direction of the muslim empire

Abdullah ibn Masud

sixth person to accept islam

used to work as a shepherd

the goat incident took place after which he accepted islam and became
closely attached to the Prophet accompanying him everywhere

gained so much knowledge about the Quran and sharia that he was
considered to be one of the four people to be authorities for others to consult
as deemed by the Prophet

first to recite the Quran publicly by the Kaaba

participated in all battles and severed the head of Abu Jahl

died in 653 and buried in Jannat al Baqi

“Whoever wants to read the Quran as fresh as it was


revealed, then let him read according to the recitation of Ibn
Umm Abd.”

Ubbay ibn Kaab

accepted Islam by the time of the second pledge of aqabah

memorized the Quran as Prophet recited it

first ansar to be appointed a scribe

given the task of training huffaz

inscribed hadiths as well as letters on the behalf of the Prophet

first to have led the tarawih prayers in ramadan

died during the caliphate of Hazrat Uthman who led his funeral prayers

Ameer Muawiyah

son of Abu Sufyan, converted after conquest of Makkah

became secretary of the Prophet

made governor of Syria

fought against Hazrat Ali and after his death became the Khalifa

found Umayyad dynasty

his son Yazid succeeded him

abdicated Imam Hasan

Khalid ibn Al Waleed

was given title Saif Allah


changed the tides in battle of Uhad
the Prophet said "He is the best slave of Allah, a sword of Allah that he has
unsheathed for the disbelievers, the hypocrites and polytheists
he led the Muslims to victory at Muta after the three original commanders died
and he got the muslims victory
it is said that nine swords were broken at his hands during BoM
leader of one of the four squadrons in the conquest of Makkah
First two Caliphs trusted him and made him a commander in their war against
the romans and persians
died 21 AH

an ansar of banu khazraj

present at second pledge of aqabah

particiapated in all battles after migration

qiyas incident

considered a scholar by the Prophet

died in 18 A.H.

The Prophet said: “The most learned of my ummah about the lawful and the
unlawful is Muaz ibn Jabal.”(Tirmizi)
