Detailed Lesson Plan in Physics

Learning Competency
1. Describe sources of light and sound, heat and electricity.

Learning Objectives
At the end of 45 minutes lesson students must have,
1. Identified the different source of energy
2. Described, the example of sources
3. Discussed the importance of sources of light, sound, heat and electricity in our daily lives.

II. Subject Matter : Force Motion, and Energy (Grade-3)

A.Topic: Energy,light,sound,heat and electricity

B.Key Concept:

● Energy- energy is the quantitative property that is transferred to a body or to a physical

system, recognizable in the performance of work and in the form of heat and light.
● Light- is a wave-like kind of energy that is produced by hot, energetic things.
● Sound- is a type of energy that causes particles to vibrate in a circular pattern.
● Heat- is an energy that can be transmitted through substance or an energy in transit due to
temperature difference.
● Electricity- Electricity is the flow of electric charge, typically carried by electrons, through a
conductor (such as a wire) due to the presence of an electric potential difference, leading to the
generation of electrical power and various electrical phenomena.

C. Science Process:
● Analyzing information
● Communication skills
● Observation

D. Value Focus:
● Understanding
● Critical thinking
● Respect

E.Teaching Aids:
● Printed handouts
● Laptop
● Powerpoint

Very good!
Now that you
understand.

Our lesson for

today is about
light,sound, heat
and electricity.
We will also
discuss the
sources of light,
sound, heat and
electricity.

So our learning
objectives are:
At the end of 45
minutes the
students must
have:
● Identified
the
different
source of
energy
● Described,
the
example
of sources
● Discussed
the
importanc
e of
sources of
light,soun
d, heat
and
electricity
in our
daily lives.

Explain LIGHT The student will

asked to compose
a list of everything
that gives us
light?
Is it possible that
light bulbs,
candles are on
your list?

Very good!
The sun is also a
significant source
of light.

What is Light?

Light is a
wave-like kind of
energy that is
produced by hot
energetic things.
Light bulbs are
energizing heated
items.

In your own We must turn the

understanding switch on because
how can we keep the light bulb

Very good!

Next we will
discuss sound
energy.

In your own
words what is
Sound energy?

How can you

create sound in
the first place?

The students
could answer, “ If

needs a medium
to travel.

You could also

compare the
vibration with a
calm sea, and
when you stomp
on it, the water
will be disturbed,
hence creating a
wave.

Have you ever

covered your ears
because someone
was screaming?

The energy
consumes the
volume or
intensity of the
sound.
The sound
becomes louder
as more energy is
expended. When
You yell you
expend a lot more
energy than when
you whisper.

All sounds are the

same way: The
more energy used
the larger the
sound.

HEAT

If you ever touch

a bulb that has
been turned ON
for a long
duration, what will
you feel?
It will be hot,
Correct, so you ma’am .
will feel the heat
through touching.

Heat is another
form of energy
class, the type of
energy that could
travel from one
substance to
another and in the
case of a light
bulb, we need to
touch it. But heat
can also transfer
even without
direct contract. If
you go camping
and there’s a
bonfire, you don’t
need to put your
whole body on the
fire just to feel the
heat.

Have you ever

wondered why a
marshmallow mels
without touching
the flames?

That’s because
there are several
ways on how the
heat will be
transferred.

Conduction,
convection,and
Radiation are the
three methods
through which
heat can be
transferred from
one item to
another.
Heat transmission
through a
substance or from
one substance to
another by direct
contact is referred
to as
Conduction.
The universe is
made up of tiny
particles. There is
more energy and
higher
temperature when
particles are
traveling quicker
CONVECTION
the transfer of
heat through a
fluid (liquid or
gas) caused by
molecular motion.
RADIATION
energy that is
radiated or
transmitted in the
form of rays or
waves or particles.

Correct! Back to
the structure of
solid, liquid, and
gas particles we
have already
tackled. Solid Ma’am!
Among those
three, which
among them will
heat travel
fastest?

Correct! that
when particles
that are tightly
compact such as
solid, it will easily
transfer the
energy that is the
same through
with heat.

Try to rub your

hands together

seconds then

Now our last topic

is Electricity.

Electricity
Electricity cannot
be mined from the
ground like coal.
So it is called
sources of energy,
meaning that this
is derived from
primary
sources,including
coal, natural gas,
fusion
reactions,sunlight,
wind and
hydropower.

Class, can you

give some
examples of
different sources
of electricity?

vERY GOOD! The students will

answer the
question.

sun, wind ,water

Finish Class?

So I have another

each object in
their proper place.

This will be done

share your work in
the class.

member in your
group to represent

question.

What is the
importance of
sources(
light,heat,sound
and electricity) in
our daily lives?

Good job Goodbye and

everyone! thank you ma’am!

Ok Class, that's
the end of our
discussion.
I hope you learn
today!
Goodbye class!
Have a nice day!
