QR CODE BASED BATTERY TRACKING IN
BSNL INVENTORY TRACKING SYSTEM (BITS)

Version 3.2 – What’s New


Version 3.2
New Features
o Provision for logging in the Mobile APP with BITS login
credentials in case of OTP issues.
o Users can update the Batteries installed in Submeter Sites
also.
o New color theme for distinguishing Battery Scanning solution
from the existing features of BITS mobile APP.
o FAQ section enabled in Portal
o Pendency report hosted for all Logins to get the details of the
Battery Scanning done by SSAs so far.

➢ Users can login to the Mobile app using


their BITS login credentials.
➢ ERP Perner number will be the username
and password will be the personal
password set at the time of Registration in
BITS Portal.
➢ New users shall register in the BITS portal
to get the login credentials.

➢ In case the user wants to go for


the OTP login, the “Password
Login” toggle button can be
changed back from “Yes” to “No”
and user can go ahead with the
OTP Login option.

Enter the ERP Perner number as the
username. Tap on the “Get OTP” button.
Give the necessary permission to read
the SMS and the OTP received will be
automatically populated. (OTP will be
sent to the registered mobile number in
the ERP system). Tap on the Login
Button.

Note: In case the user wants to get back


the normal Stock Transfer Login option
tap on the “Stock Transfer Login” button.

After successful login, users can fetch


battery details in two ways:
i) Scan the QR code on the battery.
ii) Manually enter the battery serial
number using the Manual Update
option in case QR code is not visible /
missing.

Option -1 - QR code Scanning.


i) To use this option tap on the QR code
image.
ii) After that, scan the QR code available
in the Battery set Box.

Note: - In case a single battery set is packed


in multiple boxes, all the boxes will have
the same QR code. Scanning any one QR
code is enough for updation of data in BITS
system.

After scanning the QR code available in


the Battery Set the user will be shown
the details of the Battery Set as uploaded
by the Vendor. The user has to select
additional information like Circle,
Receiving Plant and Receiving SLOC.
Capturing Oorja Information

The user needs to select the Entity Code, CAN
Number, Power plant and Battery information
related to Oorja application.
Steps:
i) Enter the HRMS number of officer in charge
of the building (Entity) where the Battery
set is getting installed and tap on the “Get
Entity Code” button.
ii) Select the correct Entity Code from the
dropdown list. Check the entity name
shown along with Entity Code.
iii) Select the CAN number from the Dropdown
list (For Sub-Meter Sites CAN number will
be shown as NA)

ii) The user can
select NA and
proceed.

Once the user selects entity code and


CAN Number, other Oorja details like
Exchange Code, Entity Name, BTS
Code, BA code, SSA Code and Oorja
Address details will be displayed for
information to the user.

The user then needs to select


the Power Plant Code and the
Battery Set ID as per the Oorja
Records.

Once the user selects entity code and CAN


Number, other Oorja details like Exchange
Code, Entity Name, BTS Code, BA code, SSA
Code and Oorja Address details will be
displayed for information to the user.
Installation Address Details

The latitude and longitude of the


scanned location will be captured and
displayed to the user. The user needs
to select their latitude and longitude
based installation location from the
drop-down menu.

The user shall enter the detailed


“Installation Location” and
“Installation Address” of the
Battery sets.
After that tap on the update
button.

User will get the success message “Status
updated successfully!” once the data is
updated in BITS and Oorja systems
This will complete the QR Code scanning
of the Battery Set in BITS system.

The values selected / entered by the user


and those displayed will be pushed to
Oorja application against this Battery set
for further activities in Oorja application
like entering the AT / Scrapping details.

Option -2 – Manual Option.
i) This option can be used if the QR code is
missing / not readable.
ii) Tap on the Manual Option button.
iii) Select the reason for Choosing Manual
Option instead of QR code scanning.
iv) Once the reason is selected the battery
details similar to QR code scanning will be
displayed and rest of the processes are
same as the QR code scanning.

BITS - BTS User guide, What’s New user guide and the Mobile
App apk are available in the “Download” Section of the portal
for the existing BITS users. New BITS users shall do the
onboarding in BITS portal to down load the apk and user guide.
(Detailed onboarding process is given in Annexure – 1)

Step 1 – User Onboarding

User has to register in the portal one time for


completing the onboarding process
User Onboarding

➢ Enter the ERP username and click on Get OTP


button to get the OTP on the Mobile Number
Registered in the ERP system.

➢ Enter the OTP, desired password, Receiving and


Supplying Plant details and Submit. This will
complete the Onboarding process.
