Materials:
● YARN: Red Heart Super Saver
Stripes Worsted Weight 4 yarn, (100%
Acrylic, 5 oz/141 g, 236 yds/215 m), Sizing:
Color: Polo (1) or Retro (1) Small Child: 4’” wide x 40” long
● HOOK: US I/9 5.5 mm Large Child: 4” wide x 50” long
● Yarn needle, Scissors Adult: 5” wide x 58” long
Row 1: Ch 15, sc in back bump of 2nd ch from hook and each ch, (14 sc).
Rows 2-5: Turn, ch 1, sc in each st across, (14 sc, 4 rows).
Row 6: Turn, ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout), dc in same st, skip next 3 sts,
[4 dc in next st, skip next 3 st,] 2 times, 3 dc in next st, dc in last st, (14 dc).
Rows 7-8: Turn, ch 1, sc in each st across, (14 sc, 2 rows).
Row 9: Repeat Row 6, (14 dc).
Rows 10-11: Repeat Rows 7-8, (14 sc, 2 rows).
FRINGE:
Step 1: Cut 28 pieces of yarn 8”-10” in length.
Step 2: Fold yarn in half. Insert hook into first stitch of R1. Place center of yarn over hook
and pull through stitch, pulling up a loop. Pull both ends of the yarn through the loop and
tighten to secure, making sure the ends are even.
Step 3: Repeat Step 2 for each stitch on R1 and R102/R128 to create a fringe. Trim if
needed.
Row 1: Ch 19, sc in back bump of 2nd ch from hook and each ch, (18 sc).
Rows 2-5: Turn, ch 1, sc in each st across, (18 sc, 4 rows).
Row 6: Turn, ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout), dc in same st, skip next 3 sts,
[4 dc in next st, skip next 3 st,] 3 times, 3 dc in next st, dc in last st, (18 dc).
Rows 7-8: Turn, ch 1, sc in each st across, (18 sc, 2 rows).
Row 9: Repeat Row 6, (18 dc).
Rows 10-11: Repeat Rows 7-8, (18 sc, 2 rows).
Rows 12 - 146: Continue repeating Rows 6, 7, and 8, (18 sts, 134 rows).
Rows 147 - 149: Repeat Row 7, (18 sc 3 rows). Fasten off, leave a 5” tail.
FRINGE:
Step 1: Cut 36 pieces of yarn 8”-10” in length.
Step 2: Fold yarn in half. Insert hook into first stitch of R1. Place center of yarn over hook
and pull through stitch, pulling up a loop. Pull both ends of the yarn through the loop and
tighten to secure, making sure the ends are even.
