Simple Past Tense
Use the simple past tense to talk about things that happened in the past. The simple
past tense is also used to talk about things that happened in stories.
The structure for positive sentences in the simple past tense is:
subject + main verb
past verb(V2)
The structure for negative sentences in the simple past tense is:
subject + auxiliary verb + not + main verb
