IRANIAN CONDENSATE (IRAN)

AUGUST 2005 SAMPLE

K Clark

ABSTRACT

At the request of UOP Guildford an assay has been carried out on a sample of Iranian Condensate crude oil, in
accordance with Quote QT/SUN/04E02.

Iranian Condensate is a low acidity, low sulphur, condensate with a low metals content and a low crude oil pour
point.
No data available above 369ºC as the distillation was stopped at 369ºC due to low yields.
The FBP of the crude oil was 431ºC by crude simdis.
Extra information: 1 x 20 Ltr pressurized cylinder received. Purchase Order Number 4500170315
Other points worthy of note are as follows:

o Possibly suitable for low sulphur fuel production.

o The sulphur recovery from distillation was 91% of the crude value ie, 0.25%wt.
This poor recovery is due to high evolved H2S and mercaptan sulphur content.

o Extremely high H2S content of crude oil.

o Olefin content of 15-95 fraction

C5 olefins 0.28 %wt
C6 olefins 0.07 %wt

o Kerosene (149-232) density, sulphur and freeze point fits specification for Jet A1.

o Gasoil / diesel (232-342) low density and low sulphur. Cetane index indicate suitability for gas oil although
desulphurisation may be necessary for low sulphur products.

o The atmospheric residue (>369) is light, low sulphur with low metals and low carbon residue content.

products. For results which are significantly higher or lower the test method should be consulted for a more accurate
statement of precision. A dash indicates that a precision statement has not yet been established or is not relevant.
