Guideline for preparation of Project Report

Subject Project Report/Internship
Paper No. 5.2

It was unanimously decided:

1) To adhere to the distribution of the subject into Part A (Theory) and Part B (project
report/internship)
2) Part A will comprise of the theoretical knowledge about research methods, data analysis,
interpretation of data, report writing etc. This component of the course carries 50 marks (38
theory + 12Internal Assessment).
3) Part B will comprise the internship/ project report and carries 50 marks. It will be evaluated
by two examiners one internal and one external. The exact date of submission of the Report
will be notified by the college. Alternatively, if it is not possible to do industrial internship,
the students will prepare a project report on a topic assigned to her/ him by the college. The
project report will be evaluated as above.
4) For Part B, students may follow the following format for their project report/internship
report. Kindly note, this is the suggested format and not limited to the above.
 The write-up should focus on the specific objectives of the project, the methodology used,
and the major findings. Regarding title, instead of giving a general topic, be specific and
emphasize the explicit nature of the work.
 The report should be brief, preferably should be based on survey data collected via first-
hand information (e.g questionnaire), focusing on contents listed below. The length of the
report should be around 70-80 pages (note this is just a guide, student may consult with
respective mentor for specific instructions with regard to their topic). Front matter,
appendix, etc. can be extra.
 The topic for the project report must be approved by the respective teacher guide.
 The contents of the report must be arranged as per the following:

i) Cover Page/Title Page
ii) Bona Fide certificate from project mentor (s), counter signed by Teacher-In-Charge
iii) Declaration by authors
iv) Abstract
v) Table of Contents
vi) Introduction
vii) Objective of the study
viii) Review of Literature
ix) Research Methodology
x) Data Analysis
xi) Conclusion & Recommendations
xii) References
In case of Internship Report

i) Cover Page/Title Page


ii) Bona Fide certificate from project mentor (s), counter signed by Teacher-In-Charge
