Q1: Essay: Recall an event/instance in your life where you lived out your being a prophet to
others. What was the circumstance? How did you act like a prophet?
Growing up as a Catholic, I always turn myself into prayer and worship especially through
the tough times in my life. Lately, our family lost a special loved one. I grew up looking up
to him and spent most of my childhood with him. During those hard times of accepting his
death, our bussiness and life came to a halt. This trial tested our unity as a family and we
leaned on each other. This circumstance brought out the prophet role out of me. I offered
words from the Bible to our family members to provide comfort through our grieving. This
Bible passage helped us process our grief; John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I
give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither
let them be afraid.” This Bible passage reminded us to not be scared and hold on to our
faith. Letting our sorrow be washed over us, mourn, and lift up our pain to God. This
reassured us that God is guiding us along the way to healing and acceptance.
