Dr. Hussain’s Directives for Pastoral Care Across the Cluster
(Pre-school - University)
Play Group
In today's Playgroup session, the focus was on reinforcing the concept of
number 2. The teacher engaged students by singing the number, encouraging
active participation. The teacher then employed a whiteboard to write and
reinforce the formation of the number 2, emphasizing the verbal path. For a
hands-on learning engagement, students were provided with colored circles and
a cone cutout. They selected two colors to decorate the ice-cream cone. To
conclude, students reflected on their learning by tracing the number 2 on a
reflection sheet.
Pre- Kindergarten
In today's Pre-K English lesson, the spotlight was on developing eye-
hand coordination. The teacher distributed two identical house cutouts,
instructing students to first examine the complete version and then
identify what was missing from the other. To encourage collaboration,
students paired up, each duo receiving two cutouts.
At the microphone, pairs shared their observations about the absent
elements, fostering communication skills. This interactive activity not
only honed observational abilities but also promoted teamwork, as one
student communicated the deficiencies while the other translated these
findings into a drawn completion of the picture. The lesson provided an
engaging way for young learners to enhance coordination and
communication in a creative context, aligning with the teacher's
approach of focusing on learning.
Kindergarten
In today's Unit of Inquiry (UOI) lesson, centered around the theme
"where we are in place and time," preschoolers enthusiastically revisited
their prior learning about various types of homes, the materials used in
construction, and the weather conditions influencing the choice of
materials. As they delved into engaging activities, the children, in
alignment with the cultural aspect, showcased their preferred cultural
homes.
Subsequently, they vividly described these homes, sharing insights into
the materials used, the purpose of the dwelling, its geographical
location, and the specific cultural context it represents. This interactive
session not only bolstered their communication skills but also deepened
their understanding of diverse cultures and architectural practices. The
lively exchange of experiences among classmates further enriched their
collective knowledge base. The holistic approach to learning in today's
lesson fostered a dynamic and inclusive educational environment
