EXECUTIVE SUMMMARY

The researchers expect that this robot can effectively suck up dust and can

help people that has no time to clean their homes. Most of us these days people are

now more advance when it comes in technology. This vacuum cleaner is an apparatus

that creates a partial vacuum, that can keep our home clean.

INTRODUCTION

In todays fast-paced world, many people led by busy lives with a demanding

schedule and thinking that they do not have time spending in a full day cleaning their

homes. Dues to dust present in the surroundings, people become more prone to

allergies. Most of this time people uses a vacuum cleaner to clean their houses

without a human intervention. Cleanliness is important, for it builds up a healthy

environment that facilitates physical and mental well-being growth.

A robot is an electromechanical device that is reprogrammable,

multifunctional, and sensible for the environment. A robot can do a repetitive job,

dangerous for humans and a manual task that human do not want to do. They can

work tirelessly without getting distracted or getting tired unlike human being. A

vacuum cleaning robot is a device that can collect dust and lessen the chores of every

individual and it is also used in homes as well as in industry.


The researchers will construct a robot that can vacuum that helps many people

for efficient, time-saving, and accessible solutions for maintaining clean and healthy

living. This robot can be especially helpful for people due to some health issues,

specifically in dust. This cleaning robot give the design of vacuum for floor cleaning

robot.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The researchers aim to invent a vacuum cleaning robot. Specifically, this study

aims to:

1. Invent a robot that is controllable.

2. Test if the robot can automatically detect and avoid obstacles.

3. Determine if the vacuum cleaning robot is effective.

SCOPE OF WORK

The main purpose of this study was to design a robot vacuum cleaner

that can perform tasks that a regular vacuum cleaner. This study mainly focuses also

on cleaning in any various types of floors and it is also built to collect dry dust

particles without human intervention.


METHODOLOGY

Materials

The materials that we will use and needed for the construction of our robot are

Mbot, two ultrasonic sensors, cable wires, portable vacuum cleaner, small wheel,

aluminum plate, and rotating brush.

Ultrasonic Sensor

The ultrasonic module is an electronic module designed for distance detection.

The distance range it can detect is 3-400cm. this module can help mBot avoid

obstacles or be used in other programs for distance detection.

Rotating Brush

Kick dust and dirt loose from the carpet so it can be picked up by the air

stream.
mCore – Main Control for mBot

mCore is an easy-to-use main control board specially designed for mBot.

Based on Arduino Uno, mCore integrates various onboard sensors, such as buzzer,

light sensor, RGB LED, etc., which provides you an easier way to start learning

electronics.

mBot

mBot is an educational robot for students to learn hands-on experience in the

fields of graphical programming, electronics, and robotics.


Portable Vacuum Cleaner

Portable Vacuum Cleaner Portable vacuum cleaners are portable cleaning

machines that use vacuum suction for cleaning purposes.

Aluminium Plate

Aluminium sheets, also known as aluminium plates, are the result of basic raw

form aluminium being pressed and rolled into panel form under high pressure.
Cable Wires

A connecting wire allows travels the electric current from one point to another

point without resistivity.

Small Vacuum Wheel

Used in various places throughout the ginning process to drop cotton into a

conveying air stream.


Battery

A battery is a source of electric power consisting of one or more electro

chemical cells with external connection for powering electrical devices.


Budgetary Requirement

The budget that we the researchers discussed was about almost 15,000 pesos.

Since we consist of 6 members, we divided it by 6 which becomes 2,500 pesos per

member. The group members of this study agreed to the budgetary requirement that

we discussed. We also collect 10 pesos every day to make a research fund and can

add for the expenses for the materials that we needed.

Procedure

The first thing we will do is to gather all the materials needed for the

construction of our robot. Next, as for the portable vacuum cleaner since it has a DC

motor and a fan that is directly connected to its own batteries we will cut the

connection and power it is using the battery of the Mbot. We will remove all the

unnecessary parts and only the motor with two wire stays. As for the mbot, we will

only use the necessary parts. After we collect all the needed materials we will now

create a cover or body for our robot using an aluminum with the help of an expert.

Then the researchers will assemble and add the other extensions part of the robot. The

researchers will finalize the robot and test the program if it works.

The researchers created a Gannt Chart to illustrates our project schedule.
