1. After installing the DX-LAN card in the computer (see Section 4) and cabling
the DX-LAN network (see Section 5), turn on at least one of the DX-800
Analyzer modules. Then, turn on the computer. Log on as the administrator.
When Windows XP starts, it detects the new card and automatically installs
the driver.
2. When Windows XP has finished starting, open the Control Panel and double-
click the Network Connection icon.
The Network Connection dialog box appears. The contents of the dialog box
vary, depending on which network cards were previously installed in the
computer. In the following example, two LAN cards are installed. The first
LAN connection is for the DX-LAN. The second connection is for the
company’s network.
3. Double-click the icon for the DX-LAN connection. The DX-LAN Status
dialog box appears.
4. Click the Properties button. The DX-LAN Properties dialog box appears.
5. In the This connection uses the following items list box, clear all check
boxes. Then, click OK to close the dialog box.

Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections.
The Network and Dial-up Connections dialog box appears. The contents of
the dialog box vary, depending on which network cards were previously
installed in the computer. In the following example, two LAN cards are
installed. The first LAN connection is for the company’s network. The second
connection is for the DX-LAN.
3. Double-click the icon for the DX-LAN connection (in the example above, this
is LAN Connection 2). The following dialog box appears:
5. In the Components checked... list, clear all check boxes except the NetBEUI
Protocol box.
1. After installing the DX-LAN card in the computer (see Section 4) and cabling
the DX-LAN network (see Section 5), turn on at least one of the DX-800

2. Log onto Windows NT as an administrator.
3. Open the Control Panel and double-click the Network icon.
• If the Network dialog box appears, go on to Step 4.
• If the Network Configuration message box appears, go on to “Installing
Windows NT Networking and the DX-LAN Card Driver” on page 23.
4. In the Network dialog box, select the Adapters tab.
5. Click the Add button.
The Select Network Adapter dialog box appears and displays a list of network
adapters.
6. Click the Have Disk button. The Insert Disk dialog box appears.
7. The default disk drive is A. If your disk drive is B, select the B drive.
8. Dionex provides a disk with drivers in the PeakNet-PA installation kit. Insert
the disk into the drive and click OK.
9. In the list of network adapters, select the entry for the adapter you installed
and click OK.
10. When Windows NT has finished copying the required files, select the
Bindings tab.
1. Insert the InTouch 7.11 (P/N 060414) CD-ROM into the CD-ROM
drive.
2. The Wonderware setup program starts automatically and the
following Welcome page appears. Click Next>.
4. You can click No when asked about viewing the Wonderware release
notes.
5. On the FS2000 Products Install page, select InTouch from the list.
6. On the next page, select the InTouch 7.11 option and click Next>.
7. When the following question box appears, click Yes to continue the
installation.
9. Enter the password you use at startup (if any) and click Next>.
12. When the Select InTouch Destination Directory page appears, do not
accept the default destination folder. Click Browse and go to the
c:\intouch.32 directory created by the PeakNet-PA setup program.
20. The following question box appears. Click No to exit the InTouch
installation.

2. Select the Date & Time tab and set the current date and time.
3. To select the 24-hour time format, go to the Control Panel and double-click
the Regional Settings icon. Select the Time tab and select HH:mm:ss from
the Time Style list.
4. To set the date format, select the Date tab in the Regional Settings dialog box
and select MM/dd/yy from the Short date style list.
Optimization Note:
NOTE If the ODBC icon does not appear, rerun the Microsoft
Access setup to install the ODBC driver.

2. Click the Node Properties icon. The Node Configuration dialog box appears.
3. Select the Resolution tab.
4. Select the Allow WindowViewer to dynamically change resolution check
box and the Convert to screen video resolution option.
