Land Rover Freelander 1 KV6
The Land Rover Freelander was designed to be a fun,
sporty SUV. If you have one of these vehicles yourself, consider adding the Land Rover Freelander service manual as well. The manual is designed to give you all the info you need to keep your Freelander in top shape. The Freelander was produced and available from 1997- 2014. This compact SUV was available as both a 2 wheel and a 4-wheel drive vehicle. The Freelander was constructed using a monocoque system. This means that the support for the vehicle was built into the external parts of the car. The Freeloader was available as a 3 door, 5 door and a commercial vehicle. The 3-door model was available in 5 different trim levels-E, S, ES, Sport, and Sport Premium. The 5 door SUV was available in 6 trim levels - E, S, ES, HSE, Sport, and Sport Premium. The Land Rover Freelander was offered with 4 different engine options as well. However, the 1.8i, Xi or XEi version was not available in North America. The engines ranged from 1.8 liters to 2.5 liters. And although manual transmission was the norm, the Automatic Tiptronic started to gain a following and eventually became standard on the V6. The first-generation Freelander was used to participate in Land Rover’s Camel Trophy and G4 Challenge. This was significant because the Freelander was not designed to have the same off-road capabilities as the larger Land Rover models. It was though, much better at handling off- road driving than the competitors. This first generation of Freelander was built using more than 16 patented features. Some of these features included the Hill Descent Control System and Intermediate Reduction Drive. The vehicles were also equipped with ABS and traction control. The second-generation Freelander was first shown at the British International Motor Show in 2006. In North America, it would be known as the LR2. Throughout Europe, it was named the Freelander 2. This generation saw several upgrades over the first generation. The engine was updated to be a straight 6 engine, there was a higher ground clearance and improved off-road capabilities. The LR2 also had an upgraded and improved interior and more safety features started to become standard on these vehicles. Land Rover would go on during subsequent generations to improve emissions, further refine the interior and add technology such as a touch screen navigation system. Clearly, the Freelander was an important vehicle in the Land Rover family. Anyone who owns a Freelander should have the 2003 Land Rover Freelander repair manual on hand to help them maintain this vehicle.
E embora a transmissão manual fosse a norma, o Tiptronic Automático começou a ganhar seguidores e acabou se tornando padrão no V6.
