TITLE: Reproduction in Plants

AIM: To observe and draw the internal structure of a hibiscus flower.

APPARATUS/ MATERIALS:

Hibiscus flower, scalpel, white tile, petri dish, forceps

METHOD:

1. A hibiscus flower was obtained.

2. The external features such as shape, size, colour, location and arrangement of the stamen,
carpels and sepals were examined.
3. The flower was cut longitudinally through the ovary using a scalpel.
4. A large, labelled drawing of the longitudinal section of the hibiscus flower was drawn.
5. The petals, sepals, stigma, style, anther, filament, ovary, ovule, nectary and receptacle were
labelled, and three labels were annotated.
6. The magnification was calculated.

CALCULATION:
𝑆𝑖𝑧𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝐷𝑟𝑎𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑔
Magnification of drawing = 𝑆𝑖𝑧𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑆𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑛

REFLECTION: (How does this experiment affect me and how does it affect society?)

CONCLUSION: (Restate the aim)
