Preamble: The Honor degree provisions aim to facilitate the award of higher qualifications
and recognition to well-performing undergraduate students of the University for acquiring
additional credits in the same periodof the programs.
According to resolution 2.2.2 of the 172"a EC meeting held on May L7,2023, the eligibility to register
for the honors program, which was 8.5 CGPA up until the fourth semester of the Engineering Degree
program, has been lowered to 7.5 CGPA. All NPTEL courses for honors degree programs will be made
available through the VTU website @ http://www.online.vtu.ac.in

Concerning the above, applications for registration for B.E. / B.Tech. Honors Degree Programs for
the academic year 2023-24 are invited from eligible students.
I. Eligibility for Registration:
1. The student is eligible to register for B.E/B.Tech. Honors Programmes at their Sth-semester
level by paying a one-time nonrefundable Registration fee of Rs. L,OOO/-
2. The student shall have obtained a grade >C in all the courses in the first attempt only, in all
the semesters untilthe 4th semester [including the 4m semester)
3. The students should have obtained a CGPA 27.5 at the end of 4tt semester.
4. The Diploma lateral entry students should have completed all the subjects/courses during
3'd and 4tt'semestersonthe first attempt only including ridge courses if any.
5. The B.Sc.lateral entry B.Sc. students should have completed the Engineering Graphics and
Elements of Civil Engineering of the year Engineering program by the end of the IV
semester onthe first attempt only.
II. Procedure for Registration:
1. The students have to register online through hftps://online.vtu.ac.in
o Click on the Sign-in button on the top Right Corner.
o If the students are New Users, Click on Create an account

Fill in your e-mail ID, Phone No, and Name and Create a New Password

Click Sign Up, Enter OTP.

You will be taken to the student dashboard. Click on Academics on the top right
corner then Click on Apply for Honour Degree.
Fill up the details and submit the form.
The College mentors for the honours degree programhave to assist the student in the
Registration and autonomous colleges have to veriS/ and approve the registrations.

2. The non-refundable Registration fees of Rs.1000/- shall be paid through the

registration portal only. N.o other payment mode is accepted.

3. This year (?023-24) registration is permitted only to students with USN

xxxZlxxxxx (Regular), USN xxx2Zt<x4>rx (Diploma Lateral Entry) arid USN

xxx22xx6xx (B.Sc. Lateral Entry).

4. There shall be no limit on the intake for registration to B.E./B. Tech Honours
5. The registrant shall abide by the regulations governing the award of 'Honours' at

hquours/ for regulations) and other norms and guidelines issued from time to time

III. Registration and other date;

1. Commencement of the Registration: 1-6th November 2023
2. The last date for the registration 30th November 2023
3. The last date for submission of the list of the students who have registered in the
Excel format only 09th December2O2S
+. The colleges shall maintain the database of such registered students along with the
details of their courses completed for obtaining additional credits for the award of
the Honours Degree. The additional credits obtained after registration will only be
considered

6. The colleges are requested to advise and mentor the students concerning the
conditions prescribed by the University in its Regulations Governing the Degree of

9. The college has to submit soft copy of the details of students registered for academic
year 2023-24 in the Excel format as shown in Annexure-Il
