ABSTRACT

1.1 SCHOOL BACKGROUND
Tadika alaf baru tasik was established on 5 January 2011 by Abdul sulaiman Bin
Muhamad who is also the entrepreneur of this kindergarten. This kindergarten is located
in ipoh perak lake with the address Taman loke lim no 20, Lorong tawas ipoh perak.
The position of this kindergarten which is located in a row of housing makes this
kindergarten famous in the area.This kindergarten is privately owned by Mr. Sulaiman
assisted by Ms. Norazila Binti Ismail. There are three teachers who teach at this
kindergarten and are assisted by two teacher assistants and two cooks. All teachers at
this kindergarten have at least a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. This
kindergarten operates from 7.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. for study time and 12.30 p.m. to
5.00 p.m. for transit time. This kindergarten is known as the new millennium guidance
class for the b40 group. It is a kindergarten that practices the latest education system
for children aged 0 to 6. year as a fee of at least Rm50.This kindergarten has the concept
of applying good values according to the pre-school curriculum which is learning while
playing which aims to produce great, true and righteous people. Indeed, pious children
give birth to an excellent generation. The establishment of a kindergarten based on the
concept of an educated Kindergarten is on the basis of wanting to produce a generation
of children who have an excellent education in terms of academics, personality, morals
and religion, while not neglecting their spiritual and physical aspects, activities are
applied regardless of whether they are scientific, artistic, intelligent and so on for the
purpose of giving birth to strong and enthusiastic souls with broad knowledge. In line
with that, the hope is that the children who are educated at this Millennium
Kindergarten will succeed in becoming excellent human beings and be able to become
children who are beneficial to themselves, their families, society, religion and even the
country.

1.2.2 EXPLANATION OF KINDEGARTEN ALAF BARU
We have been around since 2011 providing quality Montessori education for children,
aged from 0 to 6 years. Our aim is to provide a quality childcare service and Montessori
programme where your child can play and learn. The Montessori method of learning
will help your child to work and concentrate efficiently for a lifetime, no matter where
they go. We develop each child's potential through meaningful learning experiences in
a happy, safe and encouraging environment. Since the year 2000 we have provided
a quality early childhood Montessori education to children around Seri
Kembangan. we have written our own Syllabus and have incorporated the Montessori
method of education into it. With a legacy of more than 20 years, Tadika alaf baru is
committed to providing a quality montessori education and we warmly welcome you
to experience the magic with us.in our kindergarten we have 4 teachers and 2 assistant
teacher. We also had a day care centre for newborns to 4 years old in our kindergarten
alaf baru. We currently have 14 toddlers in our nursery, with 9 boys and 5 girls. We
have 16 preschool-aged children, with boys aged 7 and girls aged 9.We Have Highly
Qualified, Passionate and Dedicated Team of Teachers that have a love for children.
We Have planned a curriculum that helps to develop a child in a fun and creative way.
We Have a wide range of quality Full Montessori equipment Set-Up. We have a Clean,
Safe and Secure environment with 24hr CCTV Coverage. Tadika alaf baru is a full-day
Child Care Montessori Development centre for pre-schoolers which provide a quality
child care services and Montessori programmes in a loving environment. Established
in 2000 by Principal sir velaidem, Taska alaf baru aims to nurture your child in the
Montessori preschool method of learning. The staff at Taska alaf baru provide a happy,
safe and nurturing environment with classrooms filled with many different kinds of
Montessori apparatus for all the children to play freely.

Practical Life:
Offered to assist your child, Practical Life activities develop a sense of order,

subtraction, multiplication and division questions.
Bahasa Malaysia:
Learning of our national Language through a fun and enjoyable method to help each
individual child remember read and spell.

All these activities are interesting and fun as they are all "hands on". Prediction and
analysis are also incorporated into each experiment.
Learning to sing songs and make music by using various musical percussion to create
fun movements.
Your children will get to play "Water Play", "Sand Play" and other organized
activities. Their gross motor skills are developed while social development is enhanced
during these activities as children learn to play, take turns, share and have fun with their
friends.

( FLOWER MOSAIC )
Task Description:
The first project I completed for toddlers was a flower mosaic. For this activity we just
need 4 things which was color paper, glue, printed clipart and scissors. Collage is a
simple craft activity that involves pasting items like leaves or photographs onto a sheet
of paper. Making a collage helps your child build fine motor skills. It’s also a fun way
to develop your child’s awareness of colour and texture. And if you talk with your child
about their collage, it helps their language development too.

( PIPE CLEANER FISHING )
Task Description:
The Second project I completed for toddlers was a pipe cleaner fishing. For this activity
we just need 4 things which was big bowl, water, bands and chopstick. his simple
activity builds skills in all four major areas of development Social, Emotional,
Cognitive (intellectual), and Physical. When children are playing with water they tend
to lose themselves in the activity and spend long periods of time exploring and playing
with it. This encourages them to focus and any activity that holds a child’s attention for
a length of time will contribute to increasing their concentration span over time.The
benefits of this spill over into formal learning, where being able to concentrate in the
classroom is a vital skill. Catching the bands assists with hand-eye coordination.

hand and fingers needed for specific movement.

Task Description:
The third project I completed for toddlers was a straw punching. For this activity we
just need 4 things which was drawing block, water, straw, watercolor.this simple
activity builds skills in all four major areas of development Social, Emotional,
Cognitive (intellectual), and Physical. Toddlers love to use their hands to explore their
surroundings. This straw and spools activity is ideal for developing hand-eye
coordination and strengthening grasp. This is such a simple toddler activity to set up
and is a great way to reuse items you already have at home.

(MINIATURE ZOO)
Task Description:
The first project I completed for preschoolers was a miniature zoo. On weekdays, I'm
assigned to do the miniature zoo model with the aid of further two teachers. We utilised
some wild animal toys to depict the zoo, and we embellished it by adding grass,
waterfront, flowers, and a light force. The main reason we indicate the miniature zoo
for kids is one of a chance to give life to their imagination and build an emotional
connection with animals. Their eyes light up in amusement every time they see the
“King of the Jungle” prancing around, giraffes reaching up for higher branches of trees,
or tigers flaunting their majestic stripes. Zoo visits enable children to learn about
animals effectively, foster cognitive development and promote empathy and
compassion. Observing and discussing animals create an interest in conservation and
the realization that animals too have feelings and emotions. In front of the mini hall, we
establish the miniature zoo to the kids. They were ecstatic to see the miniature zoo.
Then it's my turn to tell them regarding the zoo and what we are able to observe there.
We teach the animals through the use of their typical sounds. Then we explain what we
will discover and how many distinct types of creatures will be found there.

Task Description:
The Second project I completed for preschoolers was volcano eruption. For this activity
we just need 4 things which was baking soda, vinegar, volcano model, food
coloring.this simple activity builds skills in all four major areas of development Social,
Emotional, Cognitive (intellectual), and Physical. Its really was a fun activity to do with
childrens. Its help children understand that when you mix certain materials together, it
causes chemical reactions. This will be their first insight into the fascinating world of
chemical sciences.

The third project I completed for preschoolers was lava lamp. For this activity we just

(intellectual), and Physical. Its really was a fun activity to do with childrens. The lava
lamp experiment is a fun and easy way to understand the chemical reaction between
acids and bases. Additionally, it also helps kids understand the density of different
substances.

The fourth project I completed for preschoolers was letter recognition. For this activity
we just need few things which was ice cream sticks, printed letters. this simple activity

(intellectual), and Physical. Its really was a fun activity to do with childrens. It is an
essential skill for children to develop as it is the foundation for learning to read and
write.they also can easily identify the capital letter and small letter quickly.

The fifth project I completed for preschoolers was making oobleck goop. For this
activity we just need few things which was shaving foam, paper plate, food coloring

development Social, Emotional, Cognitive (intellectual), and Physical. Its really was a
fun activity to do with childrens. encourages young children to pinch, pour, scrape and
poke exercising their fine motor skills using simple tools or by getting their hands dirty!

The Sixth project I completed for preschoolers was making ice boats. For this activity
we just need few things which was ice cubes ice cream stick, food coloring water, and

Emotional, Cognitive (intellectual), and Physical. Its really was a fun activity to do with
childrens. Playing with ice is an excellent way to give kids fun and stimulating sensory
experience. This type of play supports development in key learning areas like fine motor
skills, cognitive skills, emergent science, and language development.

4.1 INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
My goals were things I felt I wanted and needed to improve on in order to be more
successful in my child development major and also in future careers. My first goal was
throughout my internship, as challenges arise, I want to develop and grow my problem-
solving skills. I feel I accomplished this goal well. I was better at looking for solutions
by processing information in new ways in order to evoke useful solutions to challenges
being faced. I used my background knowledge in child development to aid me in
finding the best solution to challenges. I also used my team as a support and resource
and work with them to brainstorm solutions as problems arose.
My second goal I had set stated I will not hesitate to take the initiative and trust in my
abilities and skills as a child educator. In order to achieve this goal, I did not back down
from difficult projects. I stepped up to the challenges when they arose, therefore
allowing myself to grow and develop new skills and capabilities. I used my child
development education and knowledge to place helpful input and ideas when needed
and didn’t shy away from voicing my opinion and contributing to conversation. I feel
as though I succeeded most in this goal throughout my internship. My third goal was to
gain valuable hands-on experience relating to working with children, while preparing
children for future academic success and development. I did this by aiding positive
development in children by providing activities and lessons that are age appropriate,
individually appropriate, and culturally appropriate. I provided lesson plans that
allowed for hands on learning and experiences. I worked hard to develop lesson plans
based on the interests shown by the children and other topics that were beneficial to the

children as I helped them prepare for future academic success. My last goal was to build
trust and positive relationships with my coworkers, students, and parents. I met this
goal by offering positive relationships and taking the time to talk to them every day and
get to know them each individually. I worked side by side with them and feel that I was
a positive source to them by always being willing to help them when needed.

when needed. I especially worked hard to make the classroom and workplace a safe,
positive, and nurturing environment by being respectful and supportive and never
judging or saying unkind things about coworkers, students, or parents. As I evaluate
my job competence skills, I feel I succeeded at reaching these standards throughout my
internship. In the past I normally would be someone who would step down from being
the person who problem solves and makes decisions, but because one of my goals was
to not hesitate and take initiative while trusting in my abilities, I feel like I really pushed
myself to step up. I got to be the lead teacher a lot in my internship and was often in
charge of two of the classes, to me this showed that my supervisor trusted my skills in
teaching and planning which gave me more confidence in my abilities. When one of
the other teachers was teaching, I never just sat around, I always found something I
could do, whether that was helping a child who needed special attention so the lead
teacher could do her lesson, or preparing for the next activity that was going to take
place or cleaning up the classroom in order to keep it organized. As I look back on my
professionalism throughout my internship, I feel I did very well. I was on time, dressed
in appropriate attire, and came ready to teach with a positive attitude. I took
confidentiality very seriously and respected the privacy of both my students and my
coworkers by never giving out information to those other then appropriate personnel
and never talking negatively or gossiping to others. Adaptability is something I have
struggled with in the past but have been working on improving throughout the year. I
love having a plan and being very organized, but as I have learned throughout my time
teaching preschool, sometimes things just don't go as planned and you have to be
flexible and willing to improvise at times.

My interpersonal relations skills grew throughout my internship as I learned the
importance of communication in the field of teaching. There is a lot of planning that
goes into teaching and I learned the more communication and planning with coworkers
the better. This ensures that everyone is on the same page and makes a big difference
when it comes to teaching and having things run smoothly. I made it a goal of mine to
build positive relationships with my coworkers and I am glad to say friendships were
definitely made during my internship experience. I am glad to have coworkers that are
also now close friends.
In the scriptures Christ often teaches that we should be as a little child, and after
working with some of the most innocent and pure children this semester I can see why
Christ cherishes children so much. Young children have such a unique spirit about them
and as a teacher you can't help but quickly develop a love for each child you teach. My
students were such a great example to me of what it means to be Christlike, seeing their
smiling faces as they walked through the door each day made me feel like the luckiest
teacher in the world. I could not be more thankful for my internship experience and all
that it taught me. I will take this experience with me as I set out to future careers and
always remember all the many things I learned from this experience.

4.2.1 SUGGESTION FOR SCHOOL
For students who are nervous about getting up in front of the class to present, playing
improv games and following directions with their friends can be a great way to prepare.
They have the safety of the group and can join in the fun as they feel comfortable. This
can make the front of the class seem like a less scary place. For those students who
already have confidence presenting-- but need to work on volume and clarity-- improv
provides an opportunity both for them to practice and you to coach them.
Administrators don’t talk much about Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligence theory
right now, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still a part of good teaching. Improv
physicalizes learning, meaning that spatial learners, kinesthetic learners and
interpersonal learners benefit when it is used. Physicalizing learning through improv
improves student success with material. Depending on your particular students, this
can also be an effective way to differentiate for special education students.
