It contains 3 criteria that will be used to rate students: appearance/personality, content, and grammar and mechanics. For each criterion, students can be rated as excellent, meeting expectations, or needing improvement. The evaluator will check the corresponding box below each criterion to indicate the student's rating. At the end, an overall rating and description will be provided, along with the number of credit hours earned. Guidelines for each criterion are also defined.

    weaknesses need attention or revision. poor format; difficult to read font; poorly organized
    ▪ Meets Expectations – resume shows an appropriate appearance, tone, and style; some
    inconsistencies remain; easily read font; adequately organized
    ▪ Excellent – resume shows a very professional appearance, tone, and style; professional font;
    formatting is consistent; well organized;

    Content
    ▪ Needs Improvement – major sections are missing information (objective statement, names, dates,
    locations, etc.); purpose of the resume are less clear, and weak parts remain
    ▪ Meets Expectations – each major section includes most of the required information; purpose of the
    resume are present but could be stronger
    ▪ Excellent – each major section includes required information; purpose of the resume are strong and clear;
    extra information given to enhance resume

    Grammar and Mechanics


    ▪ Needs Improvement – student follows some guidelines, but sentences contain multiple errors and are
    difficult to understand
    ▪ Meets Expectations – student follows most guidelines, but some sentences are unclear, uneven, or contain
    errors.
    ▪ Excellent – student follows all guidelines for spelling, grammar, usage, mechanics, etc; sentences are strong
    and have a varied structure.
