45. Two point charges of 5mC and -5mC are located at 20cm apart in air.
a) What is the electric field at the midpoint of the line joining the two charges?
b) If a charge of −2𝜇𝐶is placed at the midpoint, what is the force experienced by the
charge?
46. The number of density of free electrons in a conductor is estimated to be 8×1028 m-3.
How long does an electron take to drift from one end of a wire to another of length 5.0m?
The area of cross section of the wire is 1.5×10-6 m2 and it carrying a current of 4.0 A.
47. Find the magnitude of magnetic field at a point 0.06m from the centre along the axis of a
circular loop carrying a current of 5A. Also calculate the magnetic field at the centre of the
loop, given the radius of loop is 0.05m
48. A circular coil of radius 5.0 cm and 10 turns is rotated about an axis passing through its
vertical diameter with an angular speed of 30rad/s in a uniform horizontal magnetic field of
3 × 10−2 𝑇. Obtain the maximum and the average emf induced in the coil. If the coil forms a
closed loop of resistance 8 Ω, calculate the maximum value of current in the coil. Also find
the average power loss due to joule- heating.
