You will hear someone giving a talk about the Youth Olympic Games. Listen to the talk and

The Youth Olympic Games
The Youth Olympic Games is an international multi-sport event for athletes

between 15 and 18 years old. The games are planned with the Winter rather
than Summer Games held in (28)_____.
In the regular Summer Olympics, the minimum age depends on the sport and
can be as young as 14. However, the average age of an Olympic athlete is

The idea of the YOG came from (30)_____ industrialist Johann Rosenzopf in
response to growing worldwide concerns about (31)_____ and the falling
participation in youth sport, especially in (32)_____. The first summer YOG
was held in Singapore in August 2010.
Host cities are required to keep all events within the same city. No new sports

Pamela’s Diary
Monday
I learned some new stuff about by friend Mariama today. We were in the sports hall
doing some (36)_____, and I asked her if she wanted to be chosen for the County
Team in that sport. She told me that she wants to go to Dakar and win a gold medal

Apparently, it is particularly important for Mariama, because some of her family,
