TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

MAIN STRUCTURE: Entirely made in steel it ensures greater strength and hardness as well as
extreme size accuracy and straightness. It is normalized for improved strength and dimensional
stability in time.
The Presetter UNIKO can thus guarantee great structural stability and constant geometry in any
working conditions for long years of accuracy and repeatability.

 Linearity of movement is guaranteed by 2 parallel linear guides on the X Axis with four-
row linear recirculating ball bearing with preloaded slides. 1 guide is used on the Z axis.

 Guides are directly fixed to the steel base of the presetter to guarantee constant
geometry alignment even with major temperature variations due to the same thermal
expansion coefficient. This is especially useful when the height in Z increases.
 The generous dimensions of the guides provide major precision and great stability for the
heavy, high performance presetter column.
 Axis movement is manual. Axis locking through two independent knobs that lock X and/or
Z axis at the desired position. A carefully calibrated balancing system allows to single
handedly position the camera with great ease.

 Both X and Z Axis are equipped with high precision, glass OPTICAL SCALES with micrometric
resolution. All optical scales are supplied with INSPECTION CERTIFICATE.
 Optical scales are positioned midpoint between the guides to guarantee maximum
measurement accuracy.
AXIS MOVEMENT: Axis movement is manual and allows fast, smooth positioning of camera of one
or both axis at the same time. Thanks to a well engineered counterweight it can be positioned
accurately with just one hand and requires no position locking system.
Fast positioning – simultaneous X and Z axis, single handed, double pneumatic lock/unlock
mechanism.
Micrometric movement – manual independent X and Z axis through custom machined, anodized
aluminum wheels.

CONE SLEEVE SUPPORT: Integrated in the presetter base is a high precision, vertical support
rotating cone sleeve. Machined to exact tolerances. Pre-assembly testing guarantees major
precision and repeatability over time.
The tool sleeve is machined to exact tolerances and can accommodate different kinds of tool
sleeves (ISO, HSK, VDI, CAPTO, etc.) with no need for adaptors.

 Tool sleeves are supplied with a zeroing notch for both X and Z axis.
  Manual rotation of tool is extremely smooth and easy to achieve for accurate measuring
procedures. Mechanical blocking screw allows powerful blocking of tool in any desired
position. Extremely useful for any necessary micrometric adjustment.
 Tool sleeve weight capacity is extremely high making the Leader presetter ideal even for
large tools.

COMPUTER AND SYSTEM SOFTWARE:

COMPUTER: High performance, commercial grade PC inside the main presetter frame. Operating
system is Microsoft WINDOWS. Supplied with mouse, keyboard and 19” colour TFT screen, full HD
1920x1080. SSD Hard Drive for trouble free operations.
CVS software is entirely developed by M.CONTI and is supplied in the SMART version.
CONNECTIONS: One Ethernet LAN port and 7, easily accessible, USB ports. Possibility of data
transmission through (OPTIONAL) wi-fi hardware.

Possibility of direct communications with:

 Machine tool controls with integrated presetter Post Processor
 Company servers for operations log transfer
  Specific software for Balluff sensor dimensional data transfer
 External memory supports such as USB keys and Hard drives
 Laser printers
 Label printers

OPTICAL AND MEASURE DETECTION HARDWARE:

CAMERA AND ILLUMINATOR: Camera is a high resolution C-MOS camera with telecentric lenses.
It offers a field of view of 7x7mm in both PROFILE VIEW and REAL VIEW mode.
OPTICAL SCALES: Axis resolution X = 0,001 mm Z = 0,001 mm

AXIS AND VIEWS:

Depending on the tools to be measured the operator has the option of changing AXIS mode.
Axis can be used in four different ways.
 FIXED
 MOBILE
 CENTER POINT MEASURE
 R.O.I.

MACHINE ORIGINS:
MACHINE ORIGINS CAN BE SET IN THE PRESETTER MAIN MEMORY. UP 10.000 ORIGINS CAN BE
STORED AND RECALLED.
 All origins can be named and classified
 Automatic reverts to MASTER ORIGIN for spot measurements
 Origin used is always shown on screen
GEOMETRIC FUNCTIONS:

A set of geometric functions which can be used to measure most tools in a flexible and dynamic
way.
On top of these there are an additional 3 multifunctional programs which can supply complete
tool information.

STANDARD SOFTWARE PRESET MEASUREMENTS:

 A complete set tools for measuring:

o maximum diameter and height of the tools
o line and angle intersection
o theoretical point intersection

 These functions can provide very fast, at a glance, measures of most standard tools.

SCREEN SHOT OF TOOL PROFILE DETECTION AND MEASUREMENT:

ON MUTLIPROFILE TOOLS INSERT ALIGNMENT CAN BE DETERMINED WITH THIS FUNCTION. A
MAXIMUM OF 7 INSERTS CAN BE HIGLIGHTED WITH DIFFERENT COLORS IN ORDER TO;
o Visually inspect insert postioning on X and Z axis
o Create a screenshot of insert profiles for future reference or for printing hard copies
of tool measures.

Il presetter è dotato di PC con sistema operativo WINDOWS 7
E' dotato di presa LAN e WI-FI per connessione alla rete LAN aziendale.
Non sono inclusi nella dotazione standard hardware quali cavi LAN, HUB, switch e quanto altro possa servire per la connessione alla rete aziendale.
Tramite Post Processor (incluso nel software del presetter) è possibile trasmettere i dati utensile alle macchine utensile ESCLUSIVAMENTE tramite
una rete aziendale che dovrà essere allestita da parte dei tecnici dell'azienda presso cui viene installato il presetter.

CONNECTION TO MACHINE TOOLS AND COMPANY LAN:

The presetter has a PC with WINDOWS 7 operating system. It has LAN port and WI-FI for connectivity to company LAN.
LAN cables, HUBs, switches and other hardware are not supplied with the basic equipment of this presetter.
Transferring tool data to most machine tools CNC is possible using the Post Processor software (included as a standard in the presetter software)
through company LAN. All preparation and actual connection must be carried out by the company receiving the presetter.

Sales Conditions:

CONNECTIONS TO MACHINE TOOL CN AND COMPANY LAN: The presetter is equipped

with a LAN connection port to be used for connection with the company LAN. The present offer
does not include ANY hardware such as cables, hubs, switches, connections, etc. necessary to
connect the presetter to the company LAN (costs for any such hardware that may be requested
will be calculated separately). Set up of the connection between the Leader presetter and the
company LAN is also not included. This activity is normally supplied by the purchasing company
IT personnel by assigning the relevant IP addresses.The CVS software has a Post Process pre-
installed and, if activated, tool data can be exported to machine tool NC exclusively through the
company LAN. If other software is installed (such as ATC – Advanced Tool Connectivity) then
the specific data transfer protocol will be used.
