Your candid assessment of the candidates ability and potential to participate in the Global Change Leaders program is highly valued. The Coady International Institute is a department of St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Institute has been promoting community selfreliance since it began educating leaders from around the world in 1959. The Institute continues to work towards its mission to develop leaders, primarily in the Global South, with the vision, capacity and commitment to bring about sustainable and equitable social change. Through the Global Change Leaders program we attempt to identify emerging leaders who have proven potential to have a major impact on their communities, organizations and societies in the future. For admission to the program, candidates must demonstrate an interest in learning and be willing to participate respectfully in the dialogue and community-building which are essential to the program. To do so participants must also be able to speak, read and write in English. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in a development sector for at least two years. For successful completion of the program, the candidate must be able to discuss development concepts and methodologies, share development experiences and interact successfully in a multiracial

and multicultural environment. Part 1: General Assessment of Candidate
How long have you known the candidate and in what capacity? Please indicate your working relationship with the candidate. I have known the candidate for three years as the Executive Director of the Society for Young Tanzanian Entrepreneurs (SYTE). In that responsibility, she has proven her leadership skills in a very wide manner though she is a very young girl of 20 years old.

Does the candidate possess at least two years of development leadership experience sufficient for meaningful participation in this educational program? Please comment and give concrete examples of your statements. Jackline being the founder and the executive director of SYTE, she has handle the overall governance of the SYTE in a very proffessional way. She has also been able to supervise the projects prepared by her organization SYTE. Example: Youth Empowerment program in Dar es Salaam in July 2010.

Please comment on the candidates ability to get along with people of different cultures, to work independently, or any other personal characteristic which might affect his/her studies. She is charming, team worker, she has travelling experience where she has met different groups of people with different ethnics but she succeeded to cooperate with them peacefully. She is a go- getter girl. She does not miss opportunities and she is determined. She will utilise the knowledge for the sake of her organization SYTE.

(Please continue onto next page if more space is required). Jackline has been a leader since child hood and when she is given responsibilities, she never like disappointing others. She believe in loving what she does and that has been her weapon and weapon of success of her organisation too. She does everything to her best because she love what she does. She is innovative and ready for positive changes. She never let thinghs happen but she make things happen. Jackline is flexible with any situation. She can endure any challenges and this was observed when she was governing her NGO which is not for profit, SYTE.
