stage as per specification in contract drawings.

 Site Preparation
 Setting out

Excavation Methodology
 The area to be excavated shall be properly marked and clear before starting
the works.
 The depth of excavation shall be periodically checked by a surveyor to
avoid over- excavation. The excavation executed less than 1.0 meter
following the drawing give in section details. All excavations 8 feet or less in
depth which have unsupported vertically sided lower portions shall have a
maximum vertical side of 3 1/2 feet according to CFR# 1926.651 OSHA or
the bank of the excavated area shall be sloped 53 - 45 degrees with ratio
(H: V) 1:1 – 3/4:1 and shall be maintained to avoid a collapse of the bank
into the excavated area.

 All excavated material shall be kept a minimum of 1.0 meter from the edge
of excavationor shall be stockpiled to the area designated by the Engineer.
 For all excavation activities, adequate safety barriers, signboards, advance
warning signs would be used.
 For foundation, as soon as the excavation reaches the required

depth/elevation the surface shall be leveled and shall be compacted to 95

% of maximum dry density or MDD.
 Before the compaction starts, it shall ensure that the excavated level is free
from standing water or excessive moisture content (2%).
 Inspection would be conducted for Field Density Test (FDT) for checking
and approval of the Engineer.
 Anti-termites treatment would be conducted prior to start blinding works but
make sure the anti-termites material is approved by the Engineer. (Details
refer to work sequence for anti-termites.)
 No equipment shall be operated within 5 feet of existing structures or newly
completed construction, or within a 1:1 slope from the toe of the footings of
existing or newly completed structures, without prior review by Intel.
 Disposal of Excess Excavation: Dispose of all excess excavated materials, if
not required for backfill or fills. Dispose of materials offsite (in a place which
selection is the sole responsibility of the Contractor). If approved by Intel,
materials may be disposed of onsite, and only in the areas designated by
Intel.
 Unsuitable excess material shall be removed from the site.

(B) Backfilling Methodology

 After completion of the compaction under blinding, tie beams and ground
slab. Backfilling shall commence using similar excavated material. Care shall
be taken to remove bolder, vegetations and any other deleterious materials.
 Backfilling followed with compaction shall continue till the final level is
achieved.
 The Field Density Test (FDT) report shall be submitted to the Engineer for
approval prior to proceeding to succeeding work and every 200mm (8’’) layer
need to be compact.

(C) Dewatering
Introduction
 When water table exists at a shallow depth below ground surface, it is
essential to lower the water to carry out construction of foundation,
basement etc. This is achieved by pumping out water from multiple wells
installed at the site. The process is called as dewatering.

Dewatering Methodology
 Sufficient size and capacity of dewatering system is necessary to lower and
maintain ground water table and to allow material to be excavated in a
reasonable dry condition. Excavation slopes to be stabilized where sheeting
is not required.

 Dewatering system is to be operated continuously until backfill work has been

completed.
 Then, the structure to be constructed at the excavated area has to be
finished. The complete standby has to be available for immediate operation
as may be required, to adequately maintain dewatering on continuous basis

and in the event that all or any other part of the system may become
inadequate or fail
 The water removed from the excavation to be disposed in such a manner
as will notendanger portions of work under construction or completed.

(D) Crusher Run and Blinding / Lean Concrete for The Base of Footing
 The final bottom founding level of excavation will be compacted as per
requirements before pouring crasher run or binding concrete
 Dewatering would be required if there is water ponding at the excavated hole.
 Footing based required 300mm-600mm thickness well compacted crusher run
and 50mm thickness lean concrete on top of crusher run. Refer to structure
drawing.
 Provide and apply two layers of 0.25mm heavy duty polythene vapour barrier,
well lapped in the joints including turned up against walls and ground beams.
 All compaction test report shall be approved before proceeding with blinding
works.
 Surveyor will validate the level based on the approved drawing and marking
around the blinding perimeter will be provided.
 All extra soil and loose material shall be removed from the excavated area
where blinding is to be done.
 Anti-termites treatment shall be applied before the plastic protection is laid.
The termiticide to be used is PLASMO 50.
 Use 10 Litres mixture of 12.5ml termiticide and to be treated at the rate of 5
liters per sq. meter before plastic protection will be applied.
 Plastic protection (polythene sheet) will be provided as per approved material
submitter (if needed).
 Spot reference level marks to be provided using sand and cement mortal (1:3
mix) or steel pieces. The top level of the reference point indicates the
designed blinding finish level. The spacing between reference points shall not
be more than 3 meters in any direction.
 Side shutter shall be fixed as per approved drawing and marking was
provided by the surveyor.
 Finishing level should be marked on the side shutter.
 The concrete shall be in accordance to approved mixed design from approved
concrete supplier with the required compressive strength of G15.
 Casting will take place using mobile pump or concrete bucket depending on
casting quantity and as per site condition.
 Blinding levels shall be determined via level mark.
 Curing will be done as per project specification. No activity will take place
without completing the required curing period as per specification.
 Lean concrete thickness 50mm.
 Top of lean concrete need to do as built before proceed rebar.

(E) Reinforcement Works

Introduction
 This method statement covers the activities involved in the fabrication. This
method statement defines the activities of the rebar off site and in site
construction plan.

Specification Requirement
 The types of products specified for each structural element, reinforcing bars
which is has been complied as per IFC drawing.
 Steel deformed bars conforming to the requirements of project requirements.
 Rebar Order, Delivery, and Storage
 Unloading & hoisting of rebar on site
 Rebar fabrication

Rebar’s Installation Methodology

 The rebars installation procedure will be supervised by the supervisor of
the contractor. Each position of supervisor has a duplicate staff, thus night
time rebar installation will cause no problem in items of supervision.
 Rebar will be usually hoisted as bundles carried from the stockyard and
installed manually by steel fixers. However, if the site condition allows, a
portion of wall vertical rebar might be temporarily assembled at the
stockyard for efficient installation.
 Rebar will be tied firmly with wires at the designated spots. The supports,
chairs and spacers with various shapes and dimensions will be placed
underneath or at sides of rebar’s to ensure the correct concrete cover
required in the contract documents for each structural element.
 Anchor bolts, J-bolts for steel column to be installed and tied with stump
rebar after installation of rebar for stump. J-bolts with temporary base plate
will be welded to temporary rebar to secure the bolt`s position.

(F) Formwork (Install & dismantle)

Introduction

 Install accessories in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, straight,
level, and plumb. Ensure items are not disturbed during concrete placement.
 Proved temporary ports or openings in formwork where required to facilitate
cleaning and inspection. Locate openings at bottom of forms to allow flushing
water to drain.
 Close temporary openings with tight fitting panels, flush with inside face of
forms, and neatly fitted joints will not be apparent in exposed concrete surfaces
(H) Form Work Dismantle
 Do not remove forms or bracing until concrete has gained sufficient strength
to carry its own weight and imposed loads.
