Organizational Culture
The JPIA - GSA Chapter have the following culture to sustain excellence under
pressure.
Observe time management all the time.
Everyone knows that being an accountancy student is not that easy. That
is why everyone is expected to use their time effectively and efficiently.
Their studies should not be neglected in fulfilling their duties and
responsibilities as a member or officer of the organization.
To have a positive mindset.
Mindset is the best asset everyone could have. Having a positive mindset
will improve their stress management and coping skills during stressful
moments. In this way we will create a harmonious relationship and stress-
free environment for our students.
To give their best in performing their responsibilities.
We are encouraging every student in our organization to be extraordinary.
To be the best version of their selves in fulfilling their duties. Having an
extraordinary member in our organization, we have an assurance that the
goals and objective of the said organization would be achieved.
Yes, culture can be created in a way that it guides and direct the members and
officers of the organization to achieve their goals in a most effective way.
As goals and objectives of the organization change, culture should change too.
Culture must align with the desire of the organization. The modification of the
culture depends upon certain circumstances. We are living in certain
uncertainties. Our culture should be versatile in a sense that it would adopt any
possible changes in the organization. Another factor that can modify the culture
of the organization is its people. We need to invent and test ways of working
together as we deal with different kinds of people having different kinds of
personalities. The purpose of modification should always be to create a strong
culture. A strong culture will give positive impact to students’ motivation, which in
turn influences their efficiency and ability to reach their goals.
II. In the school where you are currently enrolled, what is the prevailing
organizational culture? What are some of the practice/rituals that you observe?
In the school that we are currently enrolled, the prevailing organizational cultures
of General Santos Academy Inc. is under the hierarchy culture which is a type of
organizational culture that places a strong emphasis on structure, order, and
rules. As a student of this Academe, I have observed that our school is very strict
to certain rules. For an instance, when entering the school premises we are
obliged to wear our complete uniforms.
The academe performs various rituals such as the students are engaged well in
participating on different clubs, sports, or any activities. In addition to this, our
school is also up to developing our skills through our professors and mentors.
Leadership is focused on coordinating and planning, with a philosophy that
stresses productivity and predictability.
