Introduction
An internship at Dabur is an opportunity to gain valuable work experience and insights into the
consumer goods industry, specifically in the field of Ayurvedic products. Dabur is a renowned Indian
company known for its wide range of Ayurvedic products, including healthcare, personal care, and
food products.

During my internship at Dabur, I will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals
and contribute to various projects and initiatives. The internship program aims to provide with
practical exposure to different aspects of the company's operations, allowing to apply knowledge
and develop essential skills.

I involved in activities such as market research, sales, marketing, supply chain management, learning
Drishti and customer relationship management. I will have the opportunity to work on real-world
challenges, collaborate with teams, and make meaningful contributions to the company's objectives.

Throughout the internship, I will have access to mentor Mr Shailendra Pratap Singh (SO) and
supervisor stockist Mr. Rajiv Aggarwal who guide and support me in my learning journey. They will
provide feedback, share their expertise, and help me to enhance my skills and knowledge.

An internship at Dabur also offers a chance to immerse yourself in the company's culture and values.
You will have the opportunity to interact with professionals from diverse backgrounds, build
professional networks, and gain exposure to the day-to-day workings of a reputable consumer goods
company.

Overall, an internship at Dabur provides a platform for me to apply my academic knowledge,


develop practical skills, and gain industry-specific experience. It can be a stepping stone towards a
successful career in the consumer goods industry.
Roles and Responsibility

• Regular and Timely Visit to Market.


• Supervision on Sales Man according to the PDA provided.
• Prompt answers on Margin and Schemes to Retailers and Whole sellers.
• Communication with other Company Sales Man to get information on what rates are
they offering the products.
• Reporting True and Factual Situation about the Market.
• Expansion of Retail and Wholesale Markets through Outlet addition.
• Identification of Problems to Retailers.

Learning

• Understanding the Consumer Goods Industry: Working at Dabur will give me insight
into the consumer goods industry, including market trends, consumer behaviour, and
competition.
• Practical Application of Marketing and Sales Techniques: I had the opportunity to apply
theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. I also learn in developing marketing
campaigns, conducting market research, analyzing sales data, or interacting with
customers.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Interning at Dabur will involve working in teams or
alongside professional salesman and stockist. This experience can teach me how to
collaborate effectively, communicate with team members, and contribute to collective
goals.

• Sales Processes: I observe and learn about the various stages of the sales process,
including lead generation, prospecting, product demonstrations, negotiations, and
closing deals. I gain insights into how Dabur's sales team approaches each stage and the
strategies they employ.
• Customer Interactions: Interning in sales at Dabur, I had the opportunity to interact with
retailers and wholesalers, customers directly. These interactions can provide valuable
insights into customer needs, preferences, and purchasing behaviours. I learn how to
build relationships with customers, address their concerns, and deliver effective sales
pitches.
• Market Research: As an intern, I had the chance to observe or participate in market
research activities, such as analyzing market trends, conducting surveys and studying
consumer behaviour.
• Sales Analytics: I had the opportunity to learn about sales analytics tools and
methodologies, analyze sales data, and draw insights to improve sales effectiveness.
• Industry Knowledge: I develop a deeper understanding of the consumer goods industry.
I observe the dynamics of the market, including emerging trends, consumer preferences,
and competitive forces. This knowledge can be valuable in sales and future career
pursuits.

Suggestions

as compared to their competitors.

• Ensuring Regular and Timely visit to the Outlets.


• Supervision on Bill Cuts, Sales Value, new outlets.
• Prompt answers to Retailers on the Margins and Schemes provided by each product that
come under Beverages Division of Dabur.
• Well aware of the Margins and Schemes provided by the Competitors.
• Working upon the possible solutions to the problems with the Sales Officer
(replacement/Expiry of Products, High Cut rate in Stock Delivery, Delay in Stock Supply to
the Outlets etc.)
• Chemist and general store 1 lit. scheme must be same - 16.66% & chemist 21.66%.
• Ensuring daily track on the Brands that we are selling under Beverages Segment, daily
track on Sales man report of three stock points, and daily track of Business that three
stock points are undertaking.
• Rate issue in wholesalers price and stockist salesman price that must be overcome.
