    Lines are a fundamental element of architectural design that can be used horizontally, vertically, or in curved shapes. Vertical lines were used in the Theatre Saint-Nazaire design to create a feeling of height, while horizontal wall slats and floor tiles in a showroom used lines. Curved lines in a seating element added visual interest. Intersecting vertical lines at different angles created dynamic spaces. Ornamentation on columns and ceilings as well as textured walls also incorporated line elements in design.
