Bolt-On Hubs
Bolt-on Hubs fasten to high shear dispersion blades using bolts threaded into blind tapped holes. The bolt-on hubs
are secured to the shaft using set screws simplifying customization and blade replacement. Mixer Direct’s bolt-on hubs
allow continuous upgrading and diversification of high shear dispersion blades and can be used in conjunction with our
stiffening plates for increased blade life.

Accesories
Blade Adapter Shafts
Blade Adapter Shafts enable a high shear dispersion blade to be attached with a simple hex nut and lock washer
combination. Mixer Direct’s turned and threaded 3/8” shaft allows blades to be securely attached to the shaft and
eliminates the need for a hub on smaller high shear dispersion blades. This 3/8” blade adapter shaft is 24” long with a
1/4” threaded portion and comes with a hex nut and washer for easy installation.

Stiffening Plates
The fabricated industrial stiffening plates provide support to the dispersion blade and increase blade life by decreasing
localized stress on the blade. The stiffening plate assembly contains two stiffening plates to sandwich any dispersion
blade and can be bored to match any size center hole. Dispersion blade, shaft, and hub as shown in picture are sold
separately.

The 3 bladed 316SS high efficiency impellers, or HEIs, offer the greatest pumping per horsepower in the Mixer
Direct impeller line. They are used in a variety of applications from general blending to storage tanks. A low
cost alternative to propellers in the larger sizes they are popular on the flange mount, plate mount and top

Axial Flow Turbines

This impeller type allows a mixer to the break up agglomerations and impart solids effectively. Each blade on
these axial propellers is pitched at a 45 degree angle and manufactured to leave an edge for the liquid to move
over creating a localized shear area. Axial flow turbines will draw more power per volume than the propellers or
high efficiency impellers as motor power is converted to shear energy. Most AFT’s also have a reduced blade
width option. This can be useful if you have high viscosity products that quickly lose velocity as they move away
from the impeller.

Radial Flow Turbines

The Radial flow turbine creates a radial flow pattern moving away from the impeller, towards the sides of the
vessel. The flow impacts the side and moves in either an upward or downward direction to fill the top and
bottom of the impeller and be ejected once more. Some applications benefit greatly from this type of action,
namely gas dispersion. Radial flow turbines have a high horsepower draw relative to axial flow turbines and
other axial flow impellers.

Dispersion Blades

High-shear impellers convert the majority of the energy of the motor to shear force. These kind of blades - also
known as cowles mixer blades - excel at quickly breaking down solids and producing a fine grind. Mixer Direct
uses three grades for its high-shear blades: the HFD which includes vanes for increased pumping, allowing it
to do higher viscosities, the DBL which is a standard design used in the paint industry for many years, and the
USB, a brand-new design to get even more shear out of a single high-speed impeller blade.

Folding Impellers
Folding impellers allow a manufacturer to get a large impeller in a closed container. 4” and 7” impellers can
fold down to fit through a 2” NPT fitting and 10”, 12” and 14” can fit through a 6” NPT like that on an IBC
Tote. Some efficiency is sacrificed in this process, but with our folding mixers, sufficient agitation can now be
accomplished in areas that were otherwise inaccessible to mixing equipment.

This line of mixers from Mixer Direct attaches to a 2.5”-150# ANSI flange. Designed for heavy duty
applications the flange mount mixer includes an extra mounted support bearing and all welded construction.
Many customers choose flange mixers because they can utilize an existing connection on their tank. In light of
this, a flange mixer can adapt to a complete range of flange sizes from 1.5” to 12” ANSI flanges.

The Plate Mount Mixer typically is bolted to two C-channels across the top of the tank. However, this Plate
Mount Agitator can be mounted in almost any conceivable way that accommodates a 12X12 plate. Plate
Mount Mixers are designed for heavy duty applications with an extra flange mounted support bearing and
all welded construction. These large industrial mixers are highly customizable with multiple gear ratios, flange
sizes, impellers and shaft lengths for your application.

Raiden Plus
The Raiden Plus mixer was designed to handle a larger workload than the Raiden Standard mixer to help in-
crease your production scope. The Raiden Plus is available from 1/3 HP to 50 HP servicing tanks from approxi-
mately 5 to 20,000 Gallons. These mixers include a flexible design that allows for integrated gearmotors as well
as NEMA motor adapted gearboxes. The seal options are expanded on the Raiden Plus mixer line and include
single lip seals for ambient conditions, and component mechanical seals or high-performance double lip seals
for pressure and/or vacuum conditions.

In large-scale mixing applications, it is more practical to use a side entry mixer than a top entry due to its
versatility and many options to attach the mixer to the tank/vessel at a much more economical price.
Mixer Direct’s side entry agitators provide efficient mixing for large scale mixing processes. Side entry mixers
are used in a number of applications such as edible oils, chemical processing, water treatment, asphalt, crude
oil, gasoline, and pulp and paper. They can be easily installed anywhere along the side of the mixing tank/

The Heavy Duty Clamp mount mixers are the work horses of Mixer Direct’s portable mixer line. With heat
treated aluminum housings you get both outstanding durability and lightweight portability. All shaft mixers
include a lower support bearing which takes the radial shaft load off the motor/gearbox, extending its longevity.
Outstanding adjustability allows shaft mixer positioning on two axes of rotation. Each of these heavy-duty

Tote Bracket Mount Mixers
Heavy Duty & Economy Mounts
Designed to mix IBC Totes, the heavy duty adjustable bracket (TBM) can fit totes 36-48” allowing almost
any size tote to be accommodated. The economy mount (TBE) can fit totes of 40-42” with its robust and
lightweight aluminum frame. Tote mixers are extremely practical, allowing for the processing of chemistries
in the receiving or shipping container. The geared IBC mixer models utilize folding impellers, which can pass
through the 6” NPT opening common to most standard IBCs. However, this IBC tote mixer is not just for use
as a tote agitator, but any tank where mounting on top with a bracket would be appropriate.

Bung mount mixers allow you to mount them directly to the 2” NPT bung on a 55 gal drum lid or on any other
vessel. The folding props will slip through the bung opening and automatically open with centrifugal force.
The mixer will work in both side and center placed bung openings. With heat treated aluminum housing you

open and closed pail. The impellers fold to fit through the bung opening and open up when the 5-gallon bucket

Dual shaft mixers typically consist of sweep style anchor impellers and smaller homogenizing mixers that work
to break agglomerations and/or create emulsions. The anchor impeller works close to the tank wall and feeds
product to the homogenizing mixer location. These anchor impellers can include scraper elements to aid heat
transfer and to help move viscous or sticky materials from the tank walls. Mixers are independently operated to
allow for speed variations as the product or application rheology changes.

The Vulcan heat transfer skid from MXD Process is engineered to deliver heat transfer simplicity with fast lead

standard operating temperatures up to 240°F and custom configurations to 400°F. The Vulcan offers three
levels of control from basic analog dial control to full automation of your heating and cooling transfer fluid
processes.
