(Reflection Paper No.3)
Discussing “School culture” brings an impact not only on the educational settings but as well
as on the lives of students, teachers, and to our community. As we focus on the sub-topics related to
school culture, it becomes clear to us that upholding a positive school culture is crucial for the success
of education. In this reflection paper, I will be reflecting about the discussions from the topic school
culture as well as its sub-topics.
Good school culture can be described by the words trust, respect, and a sense of belonging
among all members. These afar mentioned words are the foundation upon which positive connections.
These connections extend among students and teachers and as well society. A school that possesses a
strong culture fosters a sense of community and a cohesive environment for student success. One
major key insights of school culture are the importance of open and meaningful discussions. When
educators and the stakeholders engage productively about the norms, values and expectations within a
school, it helps to provide a healthy culture.
Another insight is from the sub-topic school reforms, and by the way it is another crucial
aspect of the education system. As what we could observe, there’s a lot of changes that has been
occurring and there will be changes that is just about to occur. These changes are normally made as it
was being driven by the desire of our school leaders to create an inclusive and a positive culture.
Furthermore, implementing changes to adapt and align with the needs of students and the community
can have a great impact on the overall school culture.
On the discussion of our topic school culture, one vital learnings that I learned which can also
serve as a takeaway for me and to those who will read my reflection paper is the critical role of school
leaders, particularly principals, in shaping the culture of their institutions. Principals act as stewards of
the school culture, they create the momentum as well as setting the tone for the entire community.
Their roles instrumental in creating an environment where students not just survive but also to
enhance or develop. That’s why for those educators and as well as future educators who aspires to
become a school loader. It is important to note that we must take it seriously and responsible to create
a school culture that everyone deserves.
Overall, the topic of school culture is very essential to education as what we have learned
about its impacts especially on the quality of learning experiences and to students. Upholding a
positive school culture brings academic excellence, mental and emotional well-being, and as well as
social growth among students. As a result, it provides an environment where teachers are inspired and
empowered for their roles. Moreover, the relevance of school culture extends beyond the classroom
setting and the school. It also extends to the society we belong because schools have a key role in
shaping the future citizens of society.
To conclude, from the topic and as well as the sub-topics of school culture it enlightens us
about the significance of a strong school culture in the field of education. In fostering a positive
school culture, collective effort, our commitment to change, and a shared ideas is important in
creating a nurturing environment. For me this topic is not just a matter of theory but it is a practical
approach that helps and guide us to improve the system of educational and helping the students to be
equipped enough as they face challenges of an ever-changing world.
