1. Describe un unusual meal you had.

(insects)

The meal I had was very peculiar, and it happened completely by accident. I was
waiting for my flight at the airport when I suddenly heard someone calling my name.
When I turned around, I saw my cousin whom I hadn't seen in almost 10 years. It was
such a wonderful surprise to see him after all this time, and we quickly caught up
on each other's lives.

Since we had some time to kill before our flights, she suggested that we grab
something to eat. We walked around the airport, and eventually found a small
restaurant that served local cuisine. I was excited to try something new, and my
cousin ordered a dish that she said was a local specialty.

When our food arrived, I was surprised to see that it was actually a plate of insects.
There were fried crickets, grasshoppers, and beetles. I have never eaten insects
before, and I was getting cold feet at first. But my cousin encouraged me to try
them, saying that they were scrumptious and packed with protein.

I finally mustered up the courage to try one, and to my surprise, it was actually
quite tasty. It had a crunchy texture and a slightly nutty and earthy flavor. I ended up
eating more than I thought I would, and my cousin and I had a good laugh about
the experience.

Overall, it was an unusual meal for me, and definitely not something I would have
ordered on my own. However, I'm glad that I tried it, and it's something that I will
remember for a long time. It was also a great way to reconnect with my flesh and
blood and make some new memories after all these years.

2. Describe a movie you watched recently that you felt disappointed about.
(Black Adam)

So, I want to talk about this movie that I recently watched, and I have to say, it let
me down seriously. The movie in question was titled "Black Adam. I went to see it
with a group of close friends at a theatre, expecting it to be a thrilling and
captivating experience as it starred Dwayne Johnson “the rock”- one of the most
well-known Hollywood actors.
Unfortunately, the movie fell short of my expectations in several ways, leading to
my disappointment. Firstly, the storyline was incredibly weak and
lacked coherence. It seemed like the filmmakers were trying to include too
many subplots and failed to develop them effectively. As a result, the movie
felt disjointed and confusing, making it difficult to stay engaged.

Moreover, the pacing of the film was off. It started off promisingly, but as the
story progressed, it became slow and dragged on unnecessarily. This contributed
to a sense of boredom and made it challenging to stay invested in the movie's
outcome. Can you believe that I was fed up to the back teeth to the point that I
even fell asleep in the cinema?

Lastly, the film's ending left a lot to be desired. It felt rushed and lacked a
satisfying resolution. Many plot points were left unresolved, leaving me feeling
unsatisfied and questioning the purpose of certain storylines.

Overall, the movie "Black Adam" made me down in the dumps due to its weak
storyline, poor pacing, and unsatisfying ending. I wish it had been more enticing
as we had to travel over 60 kilometers to the nearest city to see it and it’s
definitely an unworthy experience.

3. Describe an occasion when you spent (quite some) time with a young
child. ( volunteered at a local summer camp for underprivileged
children)
4. Describe something you did that made you feel proud
5. Describe something that you did with someone/ a group of friend.
(eating insects)
To start with, I have to admit that I’m not really into children, I mean, for me, they’re so
annoying and troublesome. But there’s a strenuous yet memorable experience that I was with
children for quite long, it’s when I was volunteering at a local summer camp for underprivileged
children. Two years ago, I was scrolling through my social media’s newsfeed when I bumped
into an ads that was seeking volunteers to help children living under the living standard. After
weighing the pros and cons, I finally mustered up enough determination to sign in the form.
On arrival there, I was allocated to assist a 12-year-old girl who suffered from dyslexia, which
meant that she wasn’t capable of reading and writing like normal people. Her parents had
realized her inability so they forced her to stay at home and do household chore and farm work.
My heart literally broke when I heard her story, and more than ever before, I was obstinate to
help her walk outside the comfort zone and enter the colorful world of knowledge. Then, I
seriously dig into this field on how to alleviating the impact of dyslexia and even consulted from
an expert online. After several hard work, I finally found out the most suitable method of
educating her, I surfed the internet and downloaded educational films, videos and pictures, and I
tried to communicate with her as much as possible. This way, her communication skill, creativity
and imagination could be enhanced.
After nearly two months spending time with this girl, I had no choice but to go home in
preparation for my studying. I had mixed feelings toward this experience. On the one hand, I was
grinning from ear to ear that my girl was able to use language more effortlessly but on the
other hand, I felt blue that this trip finally came to an end and that there are so many people out
there who are so underprivileged just like my girl. My talk couldn’t end without mentioning my
eternal gratitude for my parents who have made enormous sacrifice for the sake of my well-
being.
6. Describe a piece of good news that you heard about someone you know
well.
7. Describe a talk you gave to a group of people ( volunteered at a local
summer camp-gave lessons in Vietnamese)

8. Describe a historical period/ moment you would like to learn more

about. ( the Independence Day)
To any country, any historical period or event has a great impact on residents’
mind and soul. Today, I’m going to talk about Independence Day – one of the
remarkable milestones of our country.
Let’s go back to the year of 1945. The 2nd of September marked the
birth of Democratic Republic of Vietnam when the Proclamation of
Independence which was written by Ho Chi Minh President was announced in
public at Ba Dinh Square. After this day, a new era
of independence, freedom and happiness was opened for our inhabitants,
ending nearly 100 years of French’s colonial force. On that memorable
moment, every corner of the city, town and village throughout the country held
street parties, fireworks were shot in the sky, marches were organized on
streets and our national anthem was performed.

I’m extremely deep into this period of time for some reasons. Initially, it has the
unique meaning which creates our own voice in the world, when the other countries
should consider us as a liberated country. You know, much blood was spilled in
the name of independence and it was an unprecedented triumph of a small country
like ours toward such a wealthy, war-oriented nation like France. Secondly, it
marked the turning point of my country to become such modernized and content as
it is nowadays. Moreover, I would prefer to join the atmosphere to show
my patriotism to my country. I look up to the First President who sacrificed his life
for our sovereignty and promise to live up to his expectation.

All in all, I always find myself moved to tears whenever I read any documentary
about this day and if I had a time – machine, I would choose to go back in time to
live in this special moment.

9. Describe a person you met at a party who you enjoyed talking with.
( Mrs. Thai Huong)
10.Descibe an old person that is interesting.
To start with, I’m fortunate enough to be able to meet loads of successful
people and have a talk with them. But the one who really blew my mind is
Mrs.thai huong- the founder and ceo of the second largest milk company in
Vietnam. So, it was at a wedding party of her niece and when I was
wandering around and looking for some refreshment, I bumped into her
and you know what, I was on cloud nine since she’s been my biggest
motivator and really aspires me to give my best at studying as well as
learning to become an entrepreneur. Despite being a billionaire and the one
who exerts enormous impact on our society, she was totally down-to-
earth and approachable, and she was really willing to give me some
valuable advice on how to stick with my guns and get over all the
setbacks and sheer challenges. What’s more, she even shared with me her
career filled with golden milestone and how she’s determined to expand
the business outside Vietnam to the Western world and around Asia. One of
the most memorable moment for her was when she wrote a letter to the
president of Russia to express her longing for establishing a cow farm in
Russia. And finally, if it hadn’t been for her words, I wouldn’t realize that
being born with great intelligence doesn’t do the trick and it isn’t the most
fundamental factor to success, instead, persistence, effort, and burning desire
will help you be on the right track. At the end of the day, i can’t thank her
enough.
11. Describe a person you have met who you want to work/study with.
(Mrs. Thai Huong)
To start with, I’m fortunate enough to be able to meet loads of successful
people and have a talk with them. But the one who really blew my mind is
Mrs.thai huong- the founder and ceo of the second largest milk company in
Vietnam. So, it was at a wedding party of her niece and when I was wandering

for her words, I wouldn’t realize that being born with great intelligence doesn’t
do the trick and it isn’t the most fundamental factor to success, instead,
persistence, effort, and burning desire will help you be on the right track. That
coversation is the reason pushing me beyond my limits both on academic
achievements and social skills and I’m really determined to land a job at her
firm since i firmly believe that she’s a great person to work with. And yeah,
that’s the story and I have been making a run for my dream of working for
my idol.

12.Describe an advertisement you have seen but you did not like.

So, I want to talk about this advertisement that really drives me up. It's for a new
energy drink that's supposed to give you a boost of energy and help you stay
focused. But honestly, every time I see it, I just want to change the channel.

The commercial starts with a guy who looks like he's on the verge of falling
asleep at work. He's surrounded by all these papers and he looks really stressed
out. Then, he takes a sip of this energy drink and suddenly he becomes super
energetic and productive. And of course, everyone around him is blown away.

But the thing that really bothers me about this ad is that it's so unrealistic. I mean,
I've tried this energy drink before and it doesn’t magically turn me into a
superhuman. And the idea that you can just drink this beverage and immediately
become more productive is just ridiculous. It sets up this false expectation that you
can be successful without putting in any actual effort.

Plus, the ad just feels really fake to me. The actors are all smiling and happy, but it's
obvious that they're just acting. And the way they talk about the energy drink is
so exaggerated, it's like they're trying to convince you that it's the best thing ever.

Overall, I just find this ad nothing more but a gimmick. It's trying to sell you a
product by stretching the truth unrealistically. I think advertisers should be
more honest and upfront about what their products can actually do, instead of
trying to trick people into buying them.

13.Describe a famous person you are interested in. ( Shakira)

I have taken an avid interest in showbiz and celebrity kind of things since I
was in middle school but the one really has a profound impact on me is
Shakira. She is a Colombian singer, songwriter and philanthropist . After
achieving superstardom throughout Latin America, Shakira became one
of the biggest international crossover artists, selling millions of album
worldwide and collecting hundreds of awards in the process. Noted for her
rock-influenced approach, Shakira maintained an extraordinary degree of
creativity over her music; she writes or co-writes nearly all of her own
material, and also gained a reputation as one of the most ambitiously
poetic lyricists.
In terms of her personality, I would say that she is extremely down-to-
earth, benevolent, sensible and assertive. And all of that makes her bright
and shine at any events and become the life and soul at the party.

What makes Shakira unique is the way she expresses every emotion into
words, telling her own story about her own life, so people can empathize
with her feelings. Actually, I feel that Shakira and I sometimes share the
same circumstances. For example, when she had ups and downs because
of dramas and released an album about that, I put myself in her shoes too.
So her songs are like mental medicine for me.

I admire her optimism, the way she rose from the death of her reputation,
the way she cares about people. To be honest, if it hadn’t been for her music,
I wouldn’t have been able to lift up my spirit and look on the bright side of
things whenever I’m in a down mood. I am so proud to be her fan and I
would say that she is too good to be true.

14.Describe someone you know who has recently moved to a new place.
(Shakira)
15.Describe someone who often helps others.
I have taken an avid interest in showbiz and celebrity kind of things since
I was in middle school but the one really has a profound impact on me is
Shakira. She is a Colombian singer, songwriter and philanthropist.
In terms of her personality, I would say that she is extremely down-to-
earth, benevolent, sensible and assertive. And all of that makes her bright
and shine at any events and become the life and soul at the party.

After rising to global stardom, she made a life-changing decision to move to

Nigeria, which is one of the poorest countries in Africa, in order to build up a
state-of-the-art system capable of providing fresh water to the residents. I
mean, it’s kinda unbelievable for a superstar like her to abandon her lavish
life-style and choose to make contributions to the society directly. The living
standards and climate conditions there are undoubtedly harsh and
unbearable for normal people. I’m totally blown away because of the fact that
she has gotten over all of the sheer challenges and pushed herself beyond
the limits. What’s more, she has been raising 14 million dollars on her
campaign to erect and operate more projects like what she’s doing. That’s so
inspiring and she’s definitely a definition of great virtue and inspiration of
moral courses of action. She’s the one who restore my faith in humanity that
anyone can give back to the society no matter who you are and where you’re
at.

16.Describe an important decision that you made. (try out swimming)

17.Describe a daily routine that you enjoy
18.Describe an activity you enjoyed in your free time when you were young.

People have been always put under a position to make decisions constantly, some of them bring
unimaginable benefits but some make us regret later as well. Today, I can’t wait to tell you the
story of me setting my heart on trying swimming out for the first time.

3 years ago when I was in middle school, my mom signed me up for a swimming course at a
sports center, which really pissed me off since I was not really into water back then. I just
detested the feeling of being wet and having to wash my hair after any swimming section.

However, I told myself that I would give it a shot to please my mother. Then, the purpose of
swimming was explained to me that it would save my life some day in the future. To be honest,
my mom was right, because it really saved me twice when I was falling into the water while
riding a sinking boat

At first, I had a little trouble trying not to breathe while getting into a deeper water body, and I
really have to give credit to my coach as she was so patient and meticulous, I mean she can have
been driven crazy by my laziness and sheer fear of water. In terms of equipment, this kind of
skill needs not much equipment except for those protecting your eyes like goggles or ears like
ear-buds. . And now, I confidently say that I have mastered swimming and go to the pool twice
a week as I love the feeling of swiftly sliding through the water.

Personally, I think this is a good skill to adopt which can save not only your life but also others.
Moreover, it is a nice sport for us to stay in shape and benefit our cardiovascular system,
agility and stamina. Now, I can’t thank my mother enough for having forced me to have a
crack at swimming and definitely myself for having stick to this wonderful water sport.
19.Describe something you would like to learn in the future. ( swimming)
20.Describe a water sport you would like to try in the future. ( swimming)
To start with, I’m a really active and sporty girl who is crazy about doing sports. But
swimming is a really intriguing water sport that I would love to have a crack at in the
future.

Talking about the background information, I growing up have been really into Kpop and
all of the celebrities. And one of my most beloved idol, who is Jennie Kim, has talked
about how swimming does wonders for her physical as well as mental health in so many
interviews. That’s why I have gradually developed a desire to give it a try.

Then, I have dig further into this sport and found out that actually, this skill requires
little investment, just a pair of goggles or ear-buds but the most important thing that
you need to memorize is that swimming is the combination of frequent practice and
bravery. Personally, I think this is a good skill to adopt which can save not only your
life but also others. Moreover, it is a nice sport for us to keep fit and benefit
our cardiovascular system, agility and stamina.

However, it’s a pity that currently I’m based in an area where most people are
living under the poverty line so it is understandable that local government
allocate all of the resources into building up infrastructure and other facilities
rather than a high-quality swimming pool. But I’m a senior at high school right
now so I set my heart on trying out this sport when I get into a university in Ha
Noi city.

21.Describe a sports program you enjoy watching. (World Cup)

I have a keen interest in sports so besides doing them physically, I’m also really into
watching sporty tournaments or contests. But the one that I’m super passionate about is the

FIFA world cup. It is a prestigious international football tournament that takes place

every four years, bringing together teams from different countries to compete for

the ultimate prize in football. The World Cup is a captivating event that captures the
attention of millions of football enthusiasts worldwide.

I usually watch the World Cup with my friends and family. The tournament creates a sense
of excitement and unity among us as we gather around to root for our favorite teams and
engage in friendly rivalries.

There are several reasons why I enjoy watching the World Cup. Firstly, the level of
competition is unmatched, with the best footballers showcasing their skills on a global
stage. The matches are filled with thrilling moments, breathtaking goals, and unexpected
twists, creating an atmosphere of suspense and anticipation. The World Cup also provides
an opportunity to witness the diversity of playing styles and strategies adopted by teams
from different countries.

You cannot believe how crazy I am about this competition. Let’s talk about the last season,
which occurred a few months ago. Being a senior at high school, I should have been paying
full attention on studying in order to stand a good chance of enrolling into a top university,
I just modified my schedule so as to watch all of the crucial matches. Whenever my favorite
team scored a goal, I was like screaming out to my heart’s content and immersing
myself in sheer happiness.

22.Describe a place you have been to where there were lots of people.
(Da Lat city)
23.Describe a happy experience from your childhood that you
remember. ( trip to Da Lat city)
24.Describe an exciting adventure you would like to take in the future.
( trip to Da Lat city)
25.Describe a car journey that you remember well. (car trip to Da Lat
city)
26.Describe a place you plan to travel to that is far away from your
home in the future. (Da Lat city)
27.Describe a place you visited where the air was polluted. (Da Lat
city)
28.Describe another city you would like to stay for a short time
29.Describe a noisy place you have been to. ( Dalat)
I’m going to talk about Da Lat, a well-known tourist attraction in Viet Nam,
which often goes by the name “the city of eternal spring”. Da Lat has always
been my favorite city, actually it’s on top of my bucket list. And when I
visited it for the first time 3 years ago, I was really blown away. The first
thing not only me but also many people out there love about this place is its
climate. Unlike the northern part of Vietnam, Da lat has a temperate
weather, which is cool and pleasant all year round. The city is also famous
for its diverse landscapes such as mountains, valleys, lakes and waterfalls.
And although several spots have been exploited to attract tourists, many are
still untouched. So, no matter what your preferences are, you can still find a
place for yourself in this city. Additionally, the wild variety of local cuisine
was sth that really impressed me. You can find specialties from different
parts of VN here in Da Lat, but at the same time, there is still something
really unique and characteristic of DL food that you can’t find anywhere
else. Much as I love Da Lat, I think it’s just suitable for a little getaway as
life here can get pretty boring if you extend your stay. Anyway, to me, da lat
is still one of the cities well worth visiting in VN and it would be a crime if
anyone misses it.
- One of the most visible signs of pollution in Da Lat is the smog that
hangs in the air. At first, I thought it was fog, which is very characteristic
of Da Lat but then I realized it was not. If you didn’t wear mask, your
face would get really dirty after just about 15 minutes travelling on the
road, which didn’t happen 5 years ago. (construction sites- unimaginable
amount of traffic flow- cut down of trees- majestic hillsides and forests
now turn to hotels and resorts). I think the main reason is the increasing
number of tourists to the city annually but the waste management
facilities aren’t properly invested to keep up with it. It’s such a shame.
- To be honest, DL has always been my favorite city and when I visited it
for the first time 5 years ago, I fell in love with the pleasant weather,
poetic landscapes and the diverse local cuisine. But as I only stayed there
for 3 days, I didn’t have the chance to explore many places of interest
here but just visit a café in the downtown, which is also characteristic of
this city. Before the trip, I did a thorough research about the cafes there
and I picked one that seems to be most famous and also received a lot of
favorable comments from the visitors and local people alike. Its name is
An coffee, and when I first saw it, I was indeed blown away by its scale
as well as the astonishing decorations. I mean the exterior was covered
with plants and flowers, which gave it a very fresh and comforting
feeling. The employees were also attentive and approachable. But that
was before disaster struck 15 minutes after, when many families with
small children came in. those kids started to run around, fighting and
yelling with each other. And then came the sound of mothers telling off
their playful children, asking them to sit still. But it didn’t seem to work
as the noise level was just getting worse and even intolerable, and I had
no choice but to leave.
30.Describe a piece of technology you own that you feel is difficult to
use.
31.Describe an invention that is useful in your daily life
When asked to describe an invention, most people would say the computer, but in
my opinion, that is a bit boring. There are other inventions that are just as important
and essential in our daily lives, such as the refrigerator.

While it's easy to take the refrigerator for granted, it has literally transformed the way
we live. One generation ago, not everyone had a refrigerator, and two or more
generations ago, they didn't even exist. Imagine living without a means of
effectively storing perishable food for days - it may sound simple, but the refrigerator
has made a huge difference in our homes and saves us a tremendous amount of time. In
particular, the refrigerator can keep food fresh for days, especially during hot weather
when perishable items like meat and fish can spoil quickly.

It's worth noting that the use of refrigerators has significantly reduced the number of
food-related illnesses. When a piece of meat or fish is taken out of a cold environment, it
can quickly become a breeding ground for bacteria. If you eat such food, the chances of
getting sick increase significantly. Properly refrigerated and stored food has been a
game-changer for humanity.

Today, refrigerators are not just popular, they are ubiquitous. It's hard to imagine life
without a refrigerator, and many families even own two fridges. They are also easy to
use - you simply plug the refrigerator into an electrical outlet, and it will work using a
mechanism and a special motor that keeps the interior cool. All you need to do is set the
temperature correctly. It's an item that anyone can use without any hassle at all.

32.Describe an occasion when you lost your way.

33.Describe an occasion when you got incorrect information.
34.Describe an interesting job that you want to have in the future
( businesswomen)

So, there's this fascinating job that I've recently learned about, and it's
something that I would absolutely love to do in the future. It's called a "wildlife
conservationist."

I first came across this job while watching a documentary series about wildlife
and conservation efforts. I was captivated by the work of these conservationists
who dedicate their lives to protecting and preserving endangered species and
their habitats.
Being a wildlife conservationist requires a unique set of skills and
qualifications. .Firstly, a deep passion and love for nature and animals are
essential. You need to have a strong understanding of ecology and conservation
principles, as well as knowledge about the specific species you're working with.

This job also demands excellent fieldwork and research skills. Conservationists
often work in remote and challenging environments, conducting surveys,
collecting data, and monitoring wildlife populations. They also play a crucial role
in developing and implementing conservation strategies to mitigate human
impact and promote sustainable practices.

What attracts me the most to this job is the opportunity to make a positive
impact on our planet's biodiversity. I feel a deep connection with nature and
a responsibility to protect it for future generations. By becoming a wildlife
conservationist, I would be able to contribute directly to the conservation
and well-being of endangered species, ecosystems, and our overall natural
heritage.

Additionally, this job offers the chance for personal growth and continuous
learning. Every day would present new challenges and opportunities to expand
my knowledge and skills. I would have the privilege of working alongside like-
minded individuals who share the same passion for conservation.

Ultimately, being a wildlife conservationist would give me a sense of purpose

and fulfillment. It would allow me to combine my love for nature, my desire to
make a difference, and my dedication to protecting the environment. Knowing
that I'm actively contributing to the conservation of wildlife and habitats would
bring immense joy and satisfaction to my life.

35.Describe a traditional celebration (a festival or ceremony) in your

country that you enjoy. (Tet holiday)
Tet is, without a doubt, the most significant event in Vietnam, as I have
mentioned in the first part. This annual celebration, which usually occurs at the
end of January or the beginning of February, marks the start of a New Year in
the Lunar calendar.

It is time for family reunions and for people to relax after a long year of hard
work, so of course, it always brings an abundance of celebratory activities.

We will all clean our houses and decorate it with traditional flowers. At the
time of transition between the old and the new year, we often go out on the
streets, look forward to the brilliant fireworks displays and say “Happy New
Year” to each other.

Another traditional ritual in Tet that I truly enjoyed as a child, is to give and
receive Lucky money. Adults will give children or elder people money in red
envelopes as a way of wishing them a healthy and prosperous new year.

We also spend this time paying homage to our ancestors by making and
feasting on traditional foods such as Chung cake and sticky rice cake.

I think the reason why Tet is so important in VN is because it holds the

meaning of a fresh start for everyone. It carries hope, and really gives us the
opportunity to strengthen our bond with family and friends.

36.Describe a book that you have read many times ( the diary of a
wimpy kid)

I consider myself as a bookworm so when it comes to describing a book I read, I

am really confused since I don’t know which one to choose, but I will tell you
about the book that I have just finished most recently – Angels and Demons – a
bestselling mystery-thriller novel written by Dan Brown.
The whole story revolves around the protagonist named Robert Langdon who is
on a quest to rescue the Pope and discover the underlying mysteries of the
Catholic church. Though the book involves a lot of religious issues, it can cater to
all kinds of readers as there aren’t many technical terms. From my point of view,
it is a true masterpiece, enchanting and captivating, filled with conspiracies and
plot twists that really send shivers down my spine. I was so fascinated by the
book that I had to find the film adaptation online to watch afterwards, and it did
not let me down at all. The movie was so action-packed that it kept me on the
edge of my seat.

What I especially like about the book is that it is very thought-provoking and it
kept me thinking for a very long time after I had finished reading. I appreciate
the moral lessons of the book. The story, though may sound distant to our lives,
conveys meanings that are relatable to readers, and I am grateful that I learnt
something from the book.

37.Describe the ideal house you would like to have. ( based in Ha Long
bay)
If I had to talk about my ideal house, it would be a beautiful house by the
seaside in a peaceful country setting.

I love the idea of having a two-storey house because I think it would be

enough for a small family to live cosily. It would have to be painted blue, which
is my favourite colour, and the ceiling would be beautifully decorated with star
and moon ornaments.

I love natural lights rather than artificial lights so each room would have its
own windows. The windows would also be decorated with coloured string
lights and various flowers, which would create a cosy atmosphere for my
family. I would hang some photos of inspirational quotes on the walls in case
I need some motivation. Each bedroom would have a balcony where we can
enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea.

The perfect location would be by the sea because I love the idea of sitting on the
beach and watching the sunrise and the sunset every day. Another reason is
that the weather in coastal areas is usually nice―not too hot and not too cold.
It’s pleasant almost all year round.

I think I would have to save a lot of money if I want to buy a house like this. The
price of property has gone up dramatically in recent years, especially in
coastal areas, but I think it’s really worth it.

38. Describe a piece of clothing you enjoy wearing. ( a T-shirt)

39. Describe the game you enjoyed playing when you were younger.
(hide and seek)

Regarding games, especially indoor ones, noughts and crosses are forever
one of my favorites when I was a child and even now when I have already
become a grown-up. This is a game in which players are required form
five consecutive noughts or five consecutive crosses in order to win the game.

My friends and I used to play this game a lot. The game was our first choice
when we had to stay indoors if it was raining. Also, I’m sure our parties wouldn’t
have been so exciting if it hadn’t been for it. Needless to say, this was our
favorite way to kill time during the breaks between lessons and after school.
We used to gather at someone’s home and play for hours.

The rules for this game are not very complicated and I’m sure that everyone can
get to know how to play it. There are two players in which one person uses the
symbol ‘noughts’ and the other uses ‘crosses’. Players take turns to place their
symbols in a cell of the grid in order to create a row, a column or diagonal of
five successive symbols in order to win the game.

There are some reasons why I was into this game when I was a child. Firstly, it
was because this game gave me a lot of fun and chances to communicate with
my friends. But I have to confess that I also liked showing everyone how clever I
was because this game also requires intelligence from players.

40. Describe a new shop that has recently opened in your city/ town. ( a
coffee shop named Wild West)

Well, a shop that has just opened in my hometown I want to share with you is
An café, which is one of the best book coffee shops in Hanoi.

This cafe is decorated in an old, traditional Vietnamese style with loads of

bookshelves.

I still vividly remember the first time I went there 3 months ago, which was also
the opening day. That was entirely coincidental. At that time, I came across an
article about a new go–to place in my area. As I was so curious about that café, I
decided to visit and it caught my eye immediately. That space was so unique
with gorgeous paintings and decoration. It really made me feel at home.

As for the reasons why I am fond of this place, I have to say thats because of
its warm ambience, which I haven’t found in other cafes yet. You know, Hanoi is
a busy and noisy city and I am so exhausted and irritated whenever I travel on
the road. Therefore, I often go there as a hideaway to run away from the hustle
and bustle. I find it extremely soothing with a cup of coffee and a small book.
And an interesting thing is if I go there on Saturday nights, I can enjoy some soft
music played by their staff. I am also pleased that the waiters tend to remember
their customers and often give me a small discount. They really know how
to retain their customers.

For all these reasons, I would say that I’ll still keep going back there in the long
run.

41. Describe an expensive gift that you would like to give someone
when you save a lot of money. ( a necklace)
42.Describe your favourite place in your house where you can relax.
(garden)

My bedroom is my favorite spot in the house to unwind. It's a cozy, inviting area
that I've created to serve as my safe zone, and it's on the second floor of my
home.

Despite the fact that my bedroom is pretty small, I have arranged the furniture
to make the most of the room and create a nice atmosphere. I find it quite
pleasant because the walls are painted a nice shade of blue-green. To make the
room feel more comfortable, I've also included some unique touches like
artwork and photographs.

The tranquility and privacy my bedroom provides are what I value most about it.
I can close the door and shut out the outside world, which enables me
to unwind and relax completely. I have a cozy reading chair and a little bookcase
in the room because I enjoy reading. I also like to listen to music, so I've set up a
speaker so I can listen to my favorite playlists.
My bedroom is a wholly personal space, thus I feel at ease there. I transformed it
into a place that represents my personality and provides me everything I require
to feel cozy and at ease. Whether I'm reading a book, listening to music, or just
lying in bed with my eyes closed, I know that I'm in a space that's designed to
help me feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

Overall, my bedroom is my favorite place in my house because it's a space that's

designed specifically for me. I can be wholly myself there and forget about
the pressures of the outer world

43.Describe a time when you taught a friend/ relative something.

44. Describe a new development in the area where you live (e.g
shopping mall, park,...) (a park)

Today I want to talk about a new development in my area - a brand new

shopping mall that just opened up recently. It's been the talk of the town since it
opened, so I’m going to share my thoughts on it.

The mall is situated in the heart of the city and is a pretty big deal around here.
There are so many stores, restaurants, and entertainment options that it's hard
to keep track of them all. In fact, I was surprised to see so many international
brands and luxury shops in one place.

I remember the first time I walked into the mall, I was blown away by its sheer
size and grandeur. It's a multi-level mall with plenty of natural light and
greenery, which gives it a welcoming and relaxing vibe. The architecture is
modern and sleek, with lots of open spaces and clean lines. It's definitely a far
cry from the traditional markets that we have around here.

As for the shops, there's something for everyone. There are high-end boutiques,
chain stores, and even some locally-owned shops. And the variety of restaurants
is amazing. You can find everything from fast food to fine dining, and the food
court is always packed with people trying out new cuisines.

But I have to say, my favorite part of the mall is the entertainment options. They
have a state-of-the-art cinema complex, a bowling alley, and even an indoor
theme park! It's a great place to take the family on the weekends, or to catch up
with friends and watch a movie.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the new shopping mall in my area. It's a great
addition to the community and I think it's going to be a popular destination for
years to come.

damage was done. The professor I was unimpressed and decided to give me a bad mark
finally.
I felt guilty and ashamed, and couldn’t help but I think of how I could have avoided
this situation. From then on, I made sure to set multiple alarms I and to be extra careful
with my schedule. I didn’t I want to miss any more important meetings or events, and
I was determined to never let something like this happen again.

46.Describe your first day at school that you remember. ( overslept)

I remember the first day in the university. It was in 2018. I had been waiting for the
whole summer to start a new chapter. I felt excited and at the same time I was so
nervous as it was my first day in the university and I didn’t know anyone. I couldn’t
sleep the night before.
My university is in downtown Toronto, Canada. It’s just next to the MTR station so
it’s very easy to get there.

There was only an opening ceremony in the morning at 10:30 in the morning. I left my
home at 9am and I arrived at school at 10. I still had some time so I decided to walk
around my beautiful campus. When it was about 10:15, I found that there was no one
nearby. I had no idea where I was and it freaked me out because the ceremony was
about to start.
Luckily, a person came and I guess he might be a staff member working in the
university and he was so friendly to lead me to the building. I found my seat at the main
hall and there was a girl sitting next to me. I approached her and asked what she studied.
And we discovered that we were in the same programme! I introduced myself and so did
she. Her name is Susan and we exchanged our contact.

The ceremony started with a speech by the principal. It was quite encouraging
and inspirational that made me look forward to university life. It ended with a cocktail
party and I spent the rest of the time with Susan. I found that we have a lot of common
interests!
I am always going to remember that day because I met the best friend that I have
ever had

47.Describe a complaint that you made and you were satisfied with the
result. ( Ha Long bay- a fly in my soup- made complaint- served
with another one)

I’d like to tell you about the time when I made a complaint at a restaurant. This
happened about 4 or 5 years ago now. Initially I complained to the waiter who
was serving our table, but after the issue was not resolved, we decided
to complain to the manager. That night, I was out to dinner with a few of my
friends, and we were celebrating one of their birthdays. We went to my friend's
favorite restaurant, which was a bit of a ritzy place with a very expensive menu. I
had never been there before but my friend said it was the best restaurant in
town, and when I saw the prices of the food in the menu I was quite shocked. So
after the waiter seated us at our table, we all ordered some drinks and after
chatting for a few minutes we started to browse the menu. Everything sounded
amazing, except the prices. After about 5 minutes everyone had chosen what
they wanted to order and we continued chatting while we waited for the waiter
to come back and take our order. After another 10 minutes of waiting, one of my
friends called out to the waiter to come take our order. He apologized for taking
so long and said that they were extremely busy. He then took our orders and we
continued chatting and catching up with each other. After about 45 minutes we
were all feeling very hungry so we decided to call the waiter over again and ask
about our food. He apologized again. and said that the chefs in the kitchen
were snowed under because the restaurant was full. After about another 15
minutes the waiter started bringing out our food, but some of the orders were
wrong, and some of our meals had started to go cold. We made some
complaints with the waiter, but we decided to just eat the meals we had been
given because we were all so hungry and didn’t want to wait any longer to eat.

So after we had all finished eating and it was time to pay the bill, we asked to
talk to the manager. He was a very friendly guy and after hearing our complaints
about the poor service and mistakes with our orders, he said that we didn’t have
to pay our bill for the food, but we still had to pay for the drinks that we had. We
were all quite happy about that result because this was a very expensive
restaurant. The reason we made a complaint was because this restaurant is very
expensive, and so we all expected the meals and service to be of a very high
standard. Although we had a bad experience that night with the food and
service, we were all quite impressed with the manager's actions in response to
our complaints. And even though it was a bad experience, I would still give them
a second chance and try eating there again sometime
