GROUP ASSIGNMENT - PART 1

A. Form a group and perform the following tasks.


1. As a group, determine an area in the research domain to focus on.
2. Each member must identify ONE (1) problem/area of improvement in the current
conventional or digital system based on task 1 above.
3. Each member must come up with ONE (1) digital solution to the problem/area of
improvement he/she has identified in task 2.
4. As a group, develop a diagrammatic prototype of ONE (1) system which consists of all the
group members’ digital solutions.

B. Prepare a report documenting the tasks above. The format and assignment requirements are as
follows:
1. Cover Page
2. Table of Contents
3. Introduction - Introduce the selected area in the research domain (task 1).
4. Main Body – Include the respective member’s name and ID for each set below.
4.1. Identified Problem/Area of Improvement
4.2. Proposed Digital Solution
5. Diagrammatic Prototype
6. Conclusion - Justify the contribution of your proposed system
7. References
8. Appendix: Work Breakdown Structure - Refer to Assignment Requirements 5.

ASSIGNMENT REQUIREMENTS
1. This group assignment is to be submitted in Word or PDF file.
2. The expected length depends on the number of members in the group. Each student should write
about 800 words, excluding introduction and conclusion. Please include the total word count at
the end of the report.
3. The document must be well presented and typed. Submission of reports that are unprofessional in
appearance (disorganized, inconsistent look, varying size, etc.) will not fare well when marks are
allocated.
4. All reports must be prepared with a front cover. The front cover should be presented with the
following details:-
• Name and student ID of team members
• Intake code
• Module code and title
• Name of your proposed system
• Name of your module lecturer
• Hand out date (date the report was handed out)
• Submission date (date the report is due to be submitted)

5. Include the work breakdown structure (division of work by the group members), to be signed by
all members. This will be used to adjust the marks for individual members if necessary.

The report will contribute 40% towards the in-course assessment, as mentioned in the Student

Marking Criteria
The assignment will contribute 40% towards the in-course assessment, as mentioned on the Student
Assessment & Information Sheet (SAIS).

Distinction A+, A
Demonstrated comprehensive research with detailed evidence. High level of analysis performed,
exceptional and thorough knowledge and understanding displayed with regard to application. This
includes analysis and evaluation of facts. Documentation presented in a professional manner,
following proper sequencing and flow. Correctly listing in-text citations and references.

Credit B+, B
Adequate research conducted with fair detail of evidence presented. Moderate level of understanding,
analysis and knowledge displayed. Some level of relevance included in terms of application.
Moderate level of analysis and evaluation. Good level of documentation presented. Moderate level
of listing citation and references.

Pass C+, C, C-
Low level research conducted. Some evidence of research displayed. Basic level of understanding
and knowledge analysis displayed. Satisfactory level of documentation. Satisfactory evaluation and
analysis of facts. Low level of listing citation and references.

GROUP ASSIGNMENT – PART 2

With the same group from Group Assignment – Part 1, further divide yourselves in smaller groups of
not more than THREE (3) members per group. Perform the following tasks.
1. Choose one computer ethical issue below. Note that you can only choose an issue that has not
been taken by any of the smaller group within the main group from Group Assignment – Part
1.
• Copyright Infringement
• Information Theft
• Bribery
• Theft and Fraud
• Digital Discrimination
• Deceptive and Misleading information
• Software Piracy
• Cyberbullying
• Intrusion of privacy
• Trade Secret
***Or any topic of your choice (but with permission from the lecturer)
2. Investigate and understand your topic well and answer the following questions. Relate your
answers to the research domain.
i. Briefly introduce your selected ethical issue.
ii. Explain with an example how this issue may be committed in the industry of the
research domain.
iii. A preventive measure to overcome the issue.
3. Create a ONE (1) page infographics using PowerPoint or any available tool based on your
answers to the three questions above. No animation and hyperlink allowed.

ASSIGNMENT REQUIREMENTS
1. This group assignment is to be submitted in PowerPoint slide (or any available tool).
2. The infographic must be within ONE (1) slide only.
3. The infographic must be clear and well presented, answering all THREE (3) questions.
