PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This is a versatile idea generative project on the topic
"Energy Efficiency" proposed by me and whose
contents are solely prepared under my knowledge. We
will discuss in brief about preserving and utilizing
energy both renewable and non-renewable.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
This ideathon contains various means to spend
energy at our limited expense while also
conserving at the same time for better efficiency.
We will look through all the possible ways that can
amend new ideas for the following given objective:
Increasing energy efficiency in cities.
Development of new energy-efficient lighting and
appliance technologies.
Novel approaches to building design and urban
planning.
0 What is energy efficiency?
Energy efficiency refers to the practice of using

less energy to perform the same task or achieve
the same outcome. It helps us reduce our overall
energy consumption and save money on our utility
bills. Energy efficiency is crucial in reducing our
carbon footprint and mitigating the impact of
climate change.
02 What is the need for energy
efficiency?
"Energy is moderately priced, but the source is

expensive." Wasting energy rather than strictly
spending it can seem to have no instant impact but
it has a huge monetary effect on the energy
bracket.
By using the concept of energy efficiency we can

reduce our energy consumption and meanwhile
save some money on our electricity bills.
Energy runs directly proportional to climate
behavior.
Secondly, energy efficiency can directly contribute
to the betterment of climate changes occurring
nowadays. By reducing our consumption we can
lower our carbon footprint.
It is a good initiative to minimize the dependency
on fossil fuels and other finite resources.
Keeping our health in mind, efficient use of energy
is also a major factor which determines our various
health factors.
By promoting energy efficiency, the awareness
about sustainability also reached to a vast
population.
03 How to achieve energy
efficiency?
Improvements in energy efficiency can generally

be achieved by adopting a more efficient
technology or production process or by application
of commonly accepted methods to reduce energy
losses.
It brings a variety of benefits such as greenhouse

gas reduction, cost cutting and many more which is
further elaborated.
It runs side by side with renewable source of
energy and a little for non renewable too.
The present form factor of energy dissipation is
measured to be harmful for the future generations.
Be it fossil fuels or solar energy, nothing is cheap
but the future is more expensive in terms of
sustainable development.
We humans have a tendency to use until we
completely utilize it to its fullest which in the case
of energy consumption is debatable.
It may feel somewhat less of a contribution by just

switching off one light when not in use but when
seen on a large scale it creates a massive
difference.
[A] SMART APPLIANCES:
In the era of technical advancements we can install

smart appliances and make it a must to get product
in every household.
Also, we can design and build new tech that is
more energy friendly.
Given below are the ideas that can be productive

for a general household:
A fan that can automatically switch itself off

when there is nobody in the room.
A light bulb that could change it's brightness

according to the day of time.
A refrigerator that can use lesser energy and

produce more compression to generate the
cooling.
An air conditioner that operates on impulsive

energy derived from other appliances in and
around the household.
More than one appliances could be controlled

by a single switch/regulator which will control
the total flow of current through the
appliances.
[B] EFFICIENT POWER GRIDS:
Domestic households alone cannot contribute to

efficiency of energy. We need advancements is our
energy units which are known as power grids.
We can hire electrical experts from around the
world to create a better and efficient power grid.
Following are the ways by which we can achieve

enhancement of power grids:
Power grids could calculate which region of the

city is using less power and whichever has
higher energy dissipation, energy could be
drawn from the region where there is less
consumption.
Smart power grids can be installed which would

be intelligent rather than just be energy
transfer grids supplying loads and loads of
power to unnecessary regions.
Energy could be drawn from rural areas where

electricity is not much used and be directly
designated to cities nearby that have
reasonable consumption.
Mismanagement of energy usage should be

watched over and be made strictly punishable
by law.
[C] DESIGN & URBAN PLANNING:
New buildings should be made future proof with

energy sources that might come later in the near
future.
Mapping out elaborated plans and designs for smart
appliances with better efficiency should be kept in
mind while constructing an apartment.
By picking up the under mentioned demonstrations

we can ace urban planning under energy efficiency:
Contractors should be checked thoroughly
whether they emphasize on factors such as
carbon emission, greenhouse reduction, energy
efficient designs, etc.
Buying apartments in areas that promise a

greener and cleaner environment.
Installing pollution free generators for

electricity backup which will help in lowering
carbon emission into the atmosphere.
Selection of efficient appliances should be

made mandatory under housing laws.
Large solar panels could be installed instead of

glass decor in and around buildings.
Modern electric smart devices such as solar

lights, solar cell derived fans, etc. should be
pre-installed in every unit.
CONCLUSION
Energy efficiency is not a common knowledge
hence awareness is very much required before
applying the above ideas to use. People should
know how much energy they are using and by
what percentage they are misusing it beyond their
needs.
Regular electricity efficiency checks should be

made mandatory in order to prevent the not so
required emission of greeenhouse gases and
carbon emission.
We should be prioritizing on switching towards
renewable resources such as solar energy, wind
energy, hydro energy, etc.
