LEARNING OBJECTIVES Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to ask at least 5 questions correctly.

SUCCESS CRITERIA At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to personally answer at least 5 questions correctly.

LANGUAGE / GRAMMAR Sounds


FOCUS / VOCABULARY Row k : ɪә/ (ear), /eә/ (air), /ʊә/ (ure), /ɜ:/ (er)

Pre-lesson: Ask a pupil a question. Ex: Do you go swimming? Ask other pupils as well.
Lesson delivery:
1. Pupils listen to the audio CD2 25. Pupils look at the pictures and point to the correct answers.
2. Pupils listen to another audio (CD2 26). Pupils take turns to practise the questions and
answers in pairs.
3. Pupils complete page 3 in Year 2 Supplementary Worksheets Module individually.
ACTIVITIES 4. Pupils each pick a strip from the teacher. Each strip consists of a verb. Pupils are given 1-2
minutes to prepare questions based on the verb they received and the question pattern that they
have learnt. They stand in two lines facing each other and take turns to ask questions and
answer them. When the teacher says move, they move to their right and repeat the steps.
Post-lesson: If time permits, pupils check the answers of page 3 from Year 2 Supplementary
Worksheets Module.

4. Teacher asks a few questions and pupils point to the frames in order to answer.
5. Pupils and teacher discuss the value of asking for help when you need it.
Post-lesson: Students in groups of 5 practise role playing with the characters and if time
permits, they can perform.
