Teacher Notes
Vocabulary: months, seasons.
Target Language:
Present Simple revision
Duration: 45 minutes

1 Structure and Timing (all times approximate)

A. Warmer (10 minutes)

B. Vocabulary (10 minutes)
C. Reading and writing (15 minutes)
D. Speaking (10 minutes)

Total: 45 minutes.

2 Procedure

A. Warmer

Start your lesson with a drawing dictation. When the students finish drawing, ask
them which season they think it is. Teach them to write and pronounce the names of
all four seasons. They can add some other things typical of the season they are
drawing.

B. Vocabulary

Encourage the students to try to explain why they relate certain words to the
particular season. If their explanation makes sense they can have the table which
differs from the solutions below.

The other task is to learn all the months. Ask the students to pronounce them
correctly. After that, each students says the name of one month and the next student
says the name of the following month. You can start this drill beginning with different
months and repeat the exercise several times.

You can also practice by matching the numbers with the month, i.e. call out one
ordinal number and ask one student to say which month it is or the other way around.
