Ebook Buddy
On behalf of the College we wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mohammad Islam
(H.O.D) It is a great sense of satisfaction and a matter of privilege for me to study at
Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur (Raj). I feel profound happiness in forwarding this minor
project report as an image of sincere efforts. It is almost inevitable to ensure indebtedness
to all who generously helped by sharing their valuable experience & devoting their precious
time with us, without whom this report would have never been accomplished. First &
foremost we extend our thanks & gratitude to whole University fraternity and registrar Dr.
Imran Khan Pathan.
Mohammad Islam (H.O.D) whose guidance, teaching and inevitable suggestion provided us
the timely valuable inputs which enhanced our Knowledge and outlook towards IT industry.
All Computer Science Faculty to whom we owe a lot for allowing we to do project under
their guidance and helping in the projects with technical support, modalities and words of
encouragement.
The main objective of the project is to create an Ebook Buddy that allows users to search and
purchase a book online based on title, author and subject. The selected books are displayed
in a tabular format and the user can order their books online through credit card payment.
Using this Website, the user can purchase a book online instead of going out to a book store
and wasting time.
There are many Ebook Buddys like Powell’s, Amazon which were designed using Html. I want
to develop a similar website using Php and Mysql.
Ebook Buddy is an online web application where the customer can purchase books online.
Through a web browser the customers can search for a book by its title or author, later can
add to the shopping cart and finally purchase using credit card transaction. The user can login
using his account details or new customers can set up an account very quickly. They should
give the details of their name, contact number and shipping address. The user can also give
feedback to a book by giving ratings on a score of five. The books are divided into many
categories based on subject like Software, Database, English, Architecture etc.
The Ebook Buddy Website provides customers with online shopping through a web browser.
A customer can, create, sign in to his account, place items into a shopping cart and purchase
using his credit card details.
The Administrator will have additional functionalities when compared to the common user.
He can add, delete and update the book details, book categories, member information and
also confirm a placed order.
This application is developed using Php and Mysql are used to develop the Ebook Buddy.

Administrator will have additional functionalities when compared to the common user.
Interest to develop a good user friendly website with many online transactions using a
database.
To increase my knowledge horizon in technologies like Php, Mysql, CSS, HTML.
To gain good experience in. Php before joining in a full time job.
2. Project Overview
2.1 Background
There are many Ebook Buddys like Powell’s, Amazon which were designed using Html. I want
to develop a similar website using Php, Mysql.
Book Description
If the user would like to know details about a book he can click on the title from where he will
be directed to a Book description page. It includes the notes on the book content and also a
link to Amazon.com to get the book review.
2|Page
Book Type
If the user would like to order Physical, Digital, Audiable book both variants are avaible.
Shopping Cart
The user can manage a shopping cart which will include all the books he selected. The user
can edit, delete and update his shopping cart. A final shopping cart summary is displayed
which includes all the items the user selected and the final total cost.

PROJECT/PROBLEM SELECTION
Ebook Buddy is complicated Project for me but I have already learned PHP and web designing
in my academic course and also for future scope, I have learned Php, AJAX BOOTSTRAP,
MYSQL, JAVASCRIPT [1][2][3], etc. My Trainer told me that, “This Project will not be completed
in Given Project timeline”. Then I thought I will give my 100% and Positive ideas. when I
started this project, I face many data store and retrieve problems in database. I have also face
data submission errors with (PHP+MYSQL and AJAX+MYSQL) [4] at one time I need to submit
many data. Also, I have to Send Generate and Store PDF and CSV Files for All Users Billing
data and that was complicated for me but I have done it.

PROJECT MONITORING SYSTEM
Project Monitoring is the practice of initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing
the work to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria at the specified time.
The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the project goals within the
given constraints. This information is usually described in project documentation, created at
the beginning of the development process. The primary constraints are scope, time, quality
and budget. The secondary – and more ambitious – challenge is to optimize the allocation of
necessary inputs and apply them to meet pre-defined objectives. The object of project
management is to produce a complete project, which complies with the client's objectives.

PROJECT MONITORING SYSTEM [G1]
Study of requirement analysis is don through different feasibility study. Feasibility study is
undertaken whenever a possibility of probability of improving the existing system or
designing new system. Feasibility study is undertaken whenever a possibility of probability of
improving the existing system or designing new system. Feasibility study helps to meet user
requirements.
It enables us to determine the potential of existing system and improving. It helps to develop
a technically and economically feasible system. It helps to know what should be embedded in
the new system. It also helps to develop a cost-effective system. I can make better utilization
of available resources.
Technical feasibility
Technical feasibility it is the study of hardware and software requirement on which the
application is to be used upon.it is important to consider the budget of the overall cost.
The proposed system is technically feasible as it has been developed with the help of available
technology. The proposed system requires PHP 7 or Greater and back-end tool is MySQL for
storing and maintaining database. No expert man poIr is required for this purpose.
7|Page
Economic feasibility
This area is concerned with cost for the development and implementation of the system. I
have looked into the maintenance of the system. I have looked into the maintenance of the
system post development. So, the actual cost of the system is important before designing a
new system which was perfectly estimated by me. All this is studied in economic feasibility
study. The designed system will provide tangible as Ill as intangible benefits to the
organization.
Operational feasibility
Automation makes lives easy. The proposed system is very user friendly and the user is much
easily able to interact with the system. Therefore, the users will readily accept the system and
data making queries can be easily done.
Legal feasibility
It includes the precaution that needs to be taken so that current software doesn’t get the
developers or the Business in legal problems under copyright acts or others. Utmost care has
been taken that the current software is free from all such legal troubles and the source code
is not copied from anyone. I have made sure that the project undertaken will meet all legal
and ethical requirement before the project is on the table.

AJAX

JAVASCRIPT
MySQL / PhpMyAdmin
Xampp Server
PHP
The PHP Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) is a programming language that allows Web
developers to create dynamic content that interacts with databases. PHP is basically used for
developing web-based software applications.
HTML
HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language, and it is the most widely used language to write
web Pages. Hypertext refers to the way in which web pages are linked together. Thus, the link
available on a webpage is called Hypertext. As its name suggests, HTML is a Markup Language
which means you use HTML to simply "mark-up" a text document with tags that tell a web
browser how to structure it to display.
9|Page
CSS
Cascading Style Sheets, fondly referred to as CSS, is a simple design language intended to
simplify the process of making Webpages presentable.
CSS handles the look and feel part of a Webpage. Using CSS, you can control the color of the
text, the style of fonts, the spacing between paragraphs, how columns are sized and laid out,
what background images or colors are used, layout designs, and variations in display for
different devices and screen sizes as Ill as a variety of other effects. CSS is easy to learn and
understand but it provides powerful control over the presentation of an HTML document.
Most commonly, CSS is combined with the markup languages HTML or XHTML.
AJAX
AJAX = Asynchronous JavaScript and XML.
AJAX is a technique for creating fast and dynamic Webpages. AJAX allows Webpages to be
updated asynchronously by exchanging small amounts of data with the server behind the
scenes. This means that it is possible to update parts of a Webpage, without reloading the
whole page. Classic Webpages, (which do not use AJAX) must reload the entire page if the
content should change.
Examples of applications using AJAX: Google Maps, Gmail, Youtube, and Facebook tabs.
BOOTSTRAP
Bootstrap is an open-source project originally created by Twitter to enable creation of
responsive, mobile first Webpages. Bootstrap has a standard set of classes that allow
developers to quickly create applications that scale to devices of all sizes, and incorporate
common components such as dialog boxes and validation. Bootstrap has become a de facto
standard for Web design.

JAVASCRIPT
JavaScript was initially created to “make Webpages alive”.
The programs in this language are called scripts. They can be written right in a Webpage’s
HTML and executed automatically as the page loads. Scripts are provided and executed as
plain text. They do not need special preparation or compilation to run. In this aspect,
JavaScript is very different from another language called Java. When JavaScript was created,
it initially had another name: “Live Script”. But Java was very popular at that time, so it was
decided that positioning a new language as a “younger brother” of Java would help.
But as it evolved, JavaScript became a fully independent language with its own specification
called ECMAScript, and now it has no relation to Java at all
MySQL
MySQL is the most popular Open-Source Relational SQL Database Management System.
MySQL is one of the best RDBMS being used for developing various Ib-based software
applications. MySQL is developed, marketed and supported by MySQL AB, which is a SIdish
company. This tutorial will give you a quick start to MySQL and make you comfortable with
MySQL programming.
A database is a separate application that stores a collection of data. Each database has one
or more distinct APIs for creating, accessing, managing, searching and replicating the data it
holds.
Other kinds of data stores can also be used, such as files on the file system or large hash tables
in memory but data fetching and writing would not be so fast and easy with those type of
systems.
Nowadays, I use relational database management systems (RDBMS) to store and manage
huge volume of data. This is called relational database because all the data is stored into
different tables and relations are established using primary keys or other keys known as
Foreign Keys.

There are Two Types of Data Primary Data and Secondary Data.
Primary Data: - Row Data and Primary data is a Term for Data Collected at Source. I
Created Dummy or Raw Data for Our Project. I Created Dummy Data with The Help of
MySQL.
Secondary Data: - It Refers to the Data Collected by Someone Other than User. i.e.,
The Data is Already available and analyzed by someone else but I Create Our Self data
then I analyzed our data. I Take some help to w3school website and finally Google is
