Overview
This unit introduced the importance of communication in adult social care settings and the
ways to overcome barriers to meet individual needs and preferences in communication. The
unit will explore the different forms of communication in the health sector. Learners will
become aware of the different people they may need to communicate with and the
importance of establishing the appropriate form of communication for individuals.

5.5 Outline the relevant guidelines and legislation that affect how information is

SUBMISSION
1. You must hand in your work on or before the published deadline date.

2. If you are unable to meet the deadline for any reason, e.g. hospital, you must notify your tutor
ASAP.
3. You must hand in your work with an assignment front sheet that clearly identifies your name,
assignment name, lecturer and subject module. You must also sign and date the student
assignment declaration to say that the work produced is your own.
4. All your work will be marked against the NCFE specification and you will receive a unit grade
for each completed unit you submit.
5. You must hand in your work to YOUR SUBJECT TUTOR on or before the published
deadline date. You must not hand in your work to anyone else but your subject tutor. If you
hand your work to another member of staff, ensure that you receive a receipt for the
assignment submission.
