floods reported in NorthWestern valley (Garamchashma) and South
Western valleys (Shishikoh, Madaklasht & Bumborate), resulting damage to

On 19082022, as per the initial report heavy rain induced heavy flash
flood in 03 areas ( Pursad, Purgal and Gorin Gole) of the Shishikoh valley.
Resultantly 07 persons went missing. So far 04 bodies have been recovered
of which 04 bodies have been identified by the names of

On 18062022 a GLOF occurred at Ishperu Gole Simtich Terich, Tehsil
Mulkhow Torkhow, which resulted in the blockage of the channel of a local Deputy Commissioner Office Upper
Hydro Power Station of 50 KV capacity. The HPS is providing electricity Chitral
to 110 households. No loss of life or damage to property reported.
On 23072022, due to heavy spell of torrential rainfall, as per initial
reports, the following damages were reported:
1. A flash flood took place at Booni Gol. Resultantly, 03 pedestrain bridges,
headworks of 14 irrigation channel and intake chambers of 04 drinking
water supply system washed away
2. Booni Mulgram Bridge partially damaged and Booni Mulgram road is
blocked near Booni Mulgram bridge.

Nallah No. 1 Tehsil Mastoj. Resultantly following damages reported
1) 2 pedestrian bridges washed away

passing through the bridge washed away

4) Due to the overflow of River Yarkhoon Channel of the local powerhouse

at the distance of 2 Km
On 19082022, as per the initial report, heavy rain induced heavy
flash floods in 06 areas ( Reshun Nullah, Pasum Gol Chuing payeen,
Parkusab, chuinj Bala shano hon, Khuzh payeen and Brep) of the
tehsil Mastuj.
1. water supply schemes and irrigation channels were completely washed
away by the flash flood.
2. Due to a highlevel flash flood in Pasun Giol Nullah river Yarkhon has
blocked for 6/7 hours resultantly all the private irrigation channels, water
supply schemes and one electricity pole were washed away, however, the
flash floods passed through the nullah, The irrigation channel of the Chinar
and Ghoru powerhouse were washed away.
3. Parkusah Nullah at a distance of 500 meters away from Pasum CGol
Nullah also blocked the main Yarkhun river for 3/4 hours after that the river
started to flow, however, all the private channels and drinking water supply Deputy Commissioner Office Upper

4. Moderate level flash flood water in Shano Hon nullah damaged private
properties, crops, and agricultural lands , and private channels. One Polo
ground also got damaged due to the entrance of flash flood water.
. 5. Flash flood in Khuzh Payeen nullah washed away all the private
irrigation channels and drinking water supply scheme, and reportedly
approximately 19 private properties were fully damaged including
agricultural lands, live stocks, and orchards.
6. As per the report highlevel flash flood in Brep nullah all the private
irrigation channels and drinking water supply schemes were completely
washed away. As per the initial report, 5 houses were fully damaged.
7. Due to the overflow of river Yarkhon, agricultural lands in village Awi are
being eroding by river Yarkbon, and no human losses and property
damages were reported.
On 2008202, due to torrential rain and flash flood occurred in different
tehsil kot, Dewser/Pawar Yarkhon, Meragram, Awi, in District Upper
Chitral. The following damage was reported:
1. Flash water entered into houses of the villagers due to flash floods and
damages to infrastructure, agricultural lands, private power houses, water
supply schemes, and irrigation channels it is further added that the Porkhot
bridge has been fully damaged.
2. Due to high flash food in Dewsar Nullah, the course of river Yarkhun has
been diverted to Pawur and badly affected 10 houses. People were

evacuated to safer places. Changes in the flow of river direction also

3. Onc Govt Primary School has also been affected due to the entrance of a
flash flood.
4. Due to a flash flood in Miragram No.1 Gol Yarkhoon river has been
blocked and a water dam is in the making.
5. Hgh discharge of water in river due to rain has caused damages to private
properties, cattle shed and Agricultural lands.
7. Duc to flash flood in Brep.Tehsil Mastuj on petrol pump, as well as 30
houses, have been partially damaged.
On 25082022, due to heavy rainfall, the following damages were
reported:
