ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
BRIGADA ESKWELA 2022 KICK-OFF ACTIVITY
August 14, 2023
Brigada Eskwela 2023 in Norberta Guillar Memorial National High School has commenced on
August 14, 2023. For this year, this nationwide activity, bears the theme, “Bayaniham Para sa Matatag na
Paaralan.” It involves cleaning. Repainting and doing necessary repairs in public schools to prepare them
ahead of the reopening of classes which will be on August 29, 2022. This nationwide activity started
August 14, 2023 and will continue on until August 19, 2023. Brigada Eskwela always highlights the
collective efforts of all education stakeholders who are willing to extend any help they could, to ensure
that schools are prepared for the learners.
Consistent with DepEd Order No. 21, s. 2023, Norberta Guillar Memorial National High School
implemented this year’s Brigada Eskwela underscoring the following:
a. encourage more local governments, communities, businesses, non-governmental organizations
(NGOs), and other local or national partners to support the implementation of BE;
b. ensure a clean, safe, inclusive and child-friendly learning environment for learners and
teaching and non-teaching personnel;
c. strengthen resiliency of schools and basic education;
d. adequately prepare public schools for the opening of classes.
For its Brigada Eskwela Kick-off Activity, Norberta Guillar Memorial National High School
conducted a motorcade in the morning of August 14, 2023. The motorcade was spearheaded by the
teaching force of NGMNHS led by their ever-active school principal Mrs. Shirley P. Sumugat. The
motorcade aimed to campaign the Brigada Eskwela activity to the community and encourage cooperation
from them. The motorcade was also participated by some officials of Barangay Buenavista. Its route
included the national highway extending from barangay Buenavista and barangay Balintawak, the
diversion road in Purok Nazareth and ends at the school campus which was also its starting point.
Upon reaching the school, an opening program was held which aimed to welcome and orient BE
volunteers with the much-needed details and instructions. Mrs. Sumugat gave the welcome remarks and
included an expression of gratefulness for the presence of various stakeholders attending the program that
morning. Mr. Jeffrey Algara, NGMNHS’ Brigada Eskwela Coordinator presented the purpose of the
activity and had it clear for the understanding of all participants why Brigada Eskwela had to be
implemented. The SPTA President gave inspiration to the people and encouraged them more to always be
united and supportive to all the school’s activities. He expressed his thankfulness to all the parents and
guardians that were willingly rendering their services to the school. Ms. Michelle Rose Entia, Teacher-III
presented the flow of process for the volunteers to go through upon participating the activity.
After the opening program, the first wave of Brigada activites began. Mostly, what were done
were cleaning of the school ground including grass cutting or trimming and pruning of trees as these are
the school’s most immediate needs. Fogging activity, to shoo away mosquitoes and disinfect different
areas of the school, was done in the afternoon by members of Pinu Beta Sigma fraternity.
Teachers of Norberta Guillar Memorial National High School facilitated the volunteers and
attended to their needs while they labor for the school. Clean drinking water was provided to them
including snacks to munch during a quick breaktime.

In the conduct of this activity, all amounts utilized are purely donations from various
stakeholders and partners.
There were a total of 260 volunteers who participated in the Brigada Eskwela Kick-off
activity of Norberta Guillar Memorial National High School.
This modern-day “Bayanihan” had evidently showed the spirit of volunteerism and
camaraderie as everybody contributed their time, effort and resources in preparing the school for
the opening of classes.
