III. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson
As a sort of reviewing the previous lesson the teacher will ask the following question:
How can we be a responsible media information user?

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson:
Teacher says, after knowing the the characteristics of being a responsible user of media, today we
are going to discuss the computer mediated communication and its types. The importance of this lesson
is that being a netizen we need to be familiar with the kind of medium or channel that humans use to
communicate with each other using computer.
Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson
The teacher will conduct a Pretest on the students. It will be presented using Powerpoint
presentation.
Teacher will ask the question to the learners randomly:
How can we be a responsible media information user?
In our previous lesson, we learned that it is imperative to be a responsible netizen.
Note to the teacher: The teacher will connect to the new topic.
Lesson: Computer Mediated Communication
- a paraglider term referring to human communication through computers.
Two Types:
1. Synchronous CMC – where contact takes place in real time.
2. Asynchronous CMC - where participants are not actually simultaneously online.

One of the characteristics of a responsible user of media is being literate in all kinds of media
platform. Below is example of an excerpt from Inquirer.net article. Read the article and
answer the following questions. Write your answers on the space provided.
Questions:
1. What does the information presented in the article make you feel?
2. How would you analyze the information as responsible user of media?
3. Why do you think has this information been shared and tweeted thousands of times?
4. Would you share this kind of post, or retweet it on Twitter? Why or why not?
5. Would you comment on an article, or tweet post like this? If so, what would you say?
6. Do you agree that ABS CBN Network should have been given a second chance? Why or Why
not?
7. Who do you think should be blame in the ABS CBN Shutdown issue?
8. Why do you think some Filipinos agree or disagree with #NotoABSCBNShutdown?
9. What values of these Filipinos who agree with this article promote?
