e. Choose three possible confounding variables in this study. Identify the variables, provide
a definition for each of them, and explain how they may have affected the results of the
study (i.e., discuss the implications of these variables – how do they undermine the
validity of the study?)
Confounding variable 1: The nurse, when and how she administered the drugs, they
vary systematically.
Confounding variable 2: The level of schizophrenia, it varies in different patients, and if
not measured before, could result in false conclusion.
Confounding variable 3: The environments they were in, this could influence their
behaviour as two separate groups.

f. Choose two of the confounding variables that you outlined above, and describe how this
study could be redesigned so that we could have greater confidence in its results.
Confounding variable 1: The environments make sure that the environments of the
groups are the same, as this could impact one’s behaviour regardless of medication.
Confounding variable 2: Measure each individual that goes into the study, their level or
diagnosis of schizophrenia as everybody could be at different extremes of the illness.
This allows for fair results and comparisons during and after the study has been
conducted.

Ethical issue 2: There is no consent that whatever the results maybe that they may be
publicized and used as a platform for any medical use.
