OPTIWHITE P
OPTIWHITE P exhibits more opacity than OPTIWHITE. Film
property advantages associated with OPTIWHITE are not as good
but can still be demonstrated in many formulation approaches.
OPTIWHITE P does contribute a buff-tone to coatings due to
the 84 brightness. Angular sheen, depending on the formulation
approach, may be equal to or slightly higher than OPTIWHITE.
Overall, OPTIWHITE P offers more hiding and greater savings than
OPTIWHITE without the exceptional advantages in film properties
associated with optiwhite.
TISYN
TISYN exhibits the greatest degrees of opacity in this
pignent series. Film properties and sheen properties more
approach what is expected of conventional calcined clay.
Again, coatings containing TISYN may exhibit a buff-tone,
depending on the level of TISYN and other pigments in the
.

VERWHITE
VERWHITE, one of a series of beneficiated, high calcium
limestone products produced by White Pigment Corporation,
possess excellent fineness, color and dispersion characteristics.
Extensively employed in rubber and plastics, VERWHITE has
proven effective as a bulk filler in plasticized PVC, especially
in critical uses requiring the absence of grit. It also yields
high volume resistivity for wire and cable applications and
exhibits excellent heat stability.
VERWHITE's use in solvent and water-borne coatings provides
consistent high fineness of grind readings and good gloss devel-
opment. In putties, caulks and sealants, it is used at high fill-
er levels because of its nominal oil absorption, low presence of
fines and high brightness.
Superior brightness and retention make VERWHITE an economical
filler for fine paper.
VERWHITE is available in both dry and slurry form.

consistently high brightness.
SNOBRITE clay is particularly beneficial when compounded
as an extender or filler in 1) Adhesives, 2) wallpaper paste,

CAMEL-TEX:
CAMEL-TEX is a fine ground general-purpose grade of calcium
carbonate produced from extremely white Calcite. High whiteness,
freedom from agglomerates, low vehicle demand and rapid dispers-
ibility make CAMEL-TEX a highly valuable product in its field of
application. CAMEL-TEX provides good color, low-angle sheen,
scrubability and good tinting qualities.
Recommended Applications:
Paint--Interior flats, primers and sealers
Plastics--Polyester fiberglass premixes, preforms and hand
lay-up gel coats
Rubber--Automotive products, household products, tubing, med-

GLOMAX :
GLOMAX extender pigments offer important advantages in
various paint systems:
* Contrast ratios are increased with the same prime white
pigment volume
* Increasing the amount of GLOMAX extender pigments improves
reflectance and decreases yellowness.
* Increasing the GLOMAX content reduces gloss.
* Imparts excellent salt spray resistance and fast grinding
characteristics to a wide range of industrial primers.
GLOMAX extender pigments also provide significant advantages
in rubber and plastics applications:
* GLOMAX imparts excellent physical and electrical properties
to rubber and other polymer systems.
* Ease of dispersion improves processability in rubber and
plastic compounds.
GLOMAX calcined aluminum silicate improves performance of a
wide range of ceramic bodies:
* GLOMAX is pre-reacted to control shrinkage
* Improves thermal shock resistance
ALTOWHITE:
ALTOWHITE calcined aluminum silicate extender pigments ex-
hibit improved optical properties in paint systems when compared
with conventional calcined kaolins. In plastics, ALTOWHITE ex-
tender pigments are chemically stable over a wide range of pH,
and easily dispersed in all systems.
ALTOWHITE offers four major advantages:
* Exhibits low gloss and sheen characteristics.
* Maintains excellent viscosity and stability.
* Useful as a Ti02 and pigment spacer in various coating and
polymer systems.
* Exceptional hiding power over a wide range of PVC and Ti02
levels.

General Information:
DAPER NOVACITE lies between 1250 and L-207A in fineness. It
is the coarsest of the finer grades. DAPER is a candidate as
requirements become stricter with regard to fineness, gloss
control and abrasivity. Even though it is quite fine, DAPER
still has the uniqueness of low binder demand with superior
rheological flow properties.
200 NOVACITE:
Average Particle Size (Range): 11-19u
Typical Applications:
Casting resins
Potting compounds
Coarser textured coatings
Chemicals
Fluid loss additives (Oil wells)
Abrasive medium (Wet blasting)
Ceramic s
General Information:
200 NOVACITE is a product not considered to be very fine in
particle size. Normally, 200 NOVACITE would be preferred where
more grittiness, more abrasivity, and lower binder demand are
desirable.
148 Handbook,of Paint Raw Materials
General Information:
L-207A NOVACITE is the “star“ of the Line. Normally the
product will disperse to a 7 Hegman Grind. All particles are
individually platey with few clusters. 98% of the particles
will fall between one and ten microns. L-207A as fine as it
is has the uniqueness of low binder demand with superior
flow properties.
S-325 NOVACITE
Hegman Fineness 2
Average Particle Size(Range): 7.4 - 16.3~
General Information:
S - 3 2 5 NOVACITE is a choice selection as an extender pigment
in most interior and exterior latex emulsion type trade sales
coatings. The degree of fineness plus very low binder demand
gives latex paints using S-325 excellent tint retention, good
frost resistance, mar resistance and chalk resistance.
Typical Applications:
Exterior trade sales paint (emulsion)
Fluidized bed coatings
Interior latex paints
Corrosion resistant coatings
Casting and potting compounds
Abrasive medium (Wet blasting)

BILT-PLATES 156
Clay
BILT-PLATES 156 is a hydrated aluminum silicate produced from
South Carolina deposits of the mineral kaolinite. It is a grit-
free fine particle size clay obtained by a dry process including
air separation.
Uses:
Suggested uses for BILT-PLATES 156 include coatings such as
primers, alkyd flats and latex paints. Because of its very fine
particle size it is particularly applicable for titanium dioxide
extension in coatings that do not require a high-brightness
extender.
