PAKISTAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION FUND (PPAF) DECEMBER 2022 till date;


Manager Business Development-Balochistan; in European Union funded Growth for Rural Advancement and
Sustainable Progress (GRASP), a 48 Million Euro project in collaboration with ITC, FAO, SMEDA and implementing
partner to strengthened SMEs in Agriculture and Livestock value chains (Grapes, Olive, Dates, onion, Sheep, Goat
and Back yard poultry) and overall objective is to support poverty reduction and sustainable and inclusive economic
growth in rural areas of Pakistan. The program’s specific objective is to support gender-inclusive income and
employment generation, enhanced productivity, and profitability of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) involved in
primary production, service provision, and value addition in and around selected clusters of value chains. Responsible
to;

• Ensures the right progressive SMEs through a competitive/transparent process should win the grants and get
the right technical assistance on proposal development, financial literacy and monitor closely
implementation of Matching Grants (0.5, 2.5 and 30 million).
• Identify the SMEs, shortlisting, selection, and implantation for matching grants in 7 Value chains,
• Provide support to partner organizations in development of implementation plan and budgeting.
• Provide support to partner organization in program implementation and contract management.

• Facilitate the partner organization in operational aspects of the program. maintain coordination with regional
teams of other implementing partners of project.
• Provision of technical assistance to Livestock and horticulture farmer market collectives, MSMEs,
Agribusiness service providers (ABSPs) at district level in production technologies and practices.
• Development of partnership business cases for farmer groups MSMEs and ABSPs.
• Design of training program for Livestock and Horticulture farmer market collectives, MSMEs and ABSPs
from public and private sector.
• Facilitate market farmer collectives in registration process through partner organizations under rural
mobilization component.
• Review of business cases in terms of technical assistance.

FOOD AND AGRICULTURE ORGANIZATION OF UN (FAO) APRIL 2019 till Dec 2022;
Provincial Coordinator/ Value Chain Development Specialist/ Project Lead Flood Relief;
a. Provincial Coordinator: Performed duties in GEF funded 23.9 Million USD budget; “Reversing deforestation
and forest degradation in high conservation value Forests in Pakistan” in collaboration with Ministry of climate
change and provincial forest departments. He was responsible for implementation of project, administration,
financial and ground level project activities. He successfully executes in coordination with Government,
Communities and partner organizations of the main component of the project. Developed multifunctional
management plan of Chilgoza forest conservation, established 3 CFPCCs, established 21 ANR Sites and brought
908 ha under protection with avg. regeneration 1953/ha. He brough 108 ha under agroforestry through community
participation in Sherani district. Established chilgoza processing units, grading, value addition machineries, market
collectives, awareness, and exposure to forest communities. He successfully implemented the project core
initiatives a). Strengthening regulatory and policy environment for integrated and sustainable management b),
Implementation of Forest Landscapes Conservation, Restoration and Value Chain Development options at
community level, c). Strengthened local institutions for integrated and sustainable management of forest
ecosystems, and, d). Knowledge, partnerships, monitoring and assessments;
b. Value Chain Development Specialist: Beside PC he provided his services in as VCDS in two FAO project (GEF
Chilgoza Sherani, Chillas, South Waziristan and Chitral) and (GEF Range and Livestock Chakwal, Jhelum, and
Attock) in Value chain development of Chilgoza, Livestock, NTFPs,, Range Management, value chain options,
designed innovative tools, ideas, machines, training manuals, installation and training, exposure visits of
communities and linkages development with markets and NTFP value chain development/ value addition
interventions.
c. Project Lead Flood Relief Emergency Projects: Facilitated FAO in implementation of several emergency
projects; CERF funded (Emergency Drought Killa Saifullah 2021-22), CERF-TCP funded (Flood Emergency 2022
Killa Saifullah and Lasbella) USAID &EU funded (Flood emergency Naseerabad and Kachi) His role was to
facilitate the organization by planning, identification of vulnerable beneficiaries for distribution inputs, distribution
planning, and logistics arrangements. In all three project more then 30K HHs facilitated.

WORLD WIDE FUND FOR NATURE- PAKISTAN (WWF) Oct: 2013 till March 2019;
Provincial Coordinator Balochistan; Headed region and was responsible for overall technical, financial and
administrative affairs of the Balochistan province; technical input; liaison and linkages; staff hiring, training and team
building; concepts and proposal writing; program planning, monitoring and evaluation; vigilance; representation at
various forums; research and report writing. He implemented/ facilitated regional programs/ projects worth above 20
Million USD;
Forests: Chilgoza Forest Conservation and Livelihood Improvement in Suleiman Range, Balochistan 2013 –15
(UKAID) Water shed management, conservation, Awareness, Mobilization, livelihood improvement, rural poultry
Climate & Energy: 1. Solar & Alternate Energy provision in Musakhel (2018-19) USAID 100+ beneficiaries
2. Combatting Illegal Wildlife Trade (USAID 206-18) training, capacity building, awareness and 200 beneficiaries,

Food and Agriculture: Organic Cotton Cultivation Promotion with Small and Marginal Tribal Farmers in Pakistan
2016-2019 (C&A Foundation). 4000 Farmers, 160 FFS, 60 WFFS, 3 districts, 160 demonstration plots and 180 farmers
and 2000 acers declared as organic cotton and qualified for Scope Certification of Organic Cotton by Control Union-
Sri Lanka and first lot of 400 bales generated in 2018. In 2019, the project extended to 4 more districts.

Musakhel Minerals Development Project - Jan 2010 to Sep. 2013


Project Manager; Headed a private sector energy mining company; management, logistics coordination and
administration were his responsibility. He designed livelihoods improvement, development and relief programs with in
frame work of the CSR program. He settled the communities’ rights, inter-tribal conflicts, and resolved minerals right
issues of multi-tribal clans for smooth implementation of mining exploration project for socio-economic development.
Organized and build up database, on-site needs assessments, gender and socio-economic information of tribal
communities, designed projects, intervention strategies for education, health, poverty alleviation and socio-economic
development of mining and hosting communities from settled royalties. Promoted community development activities,
operations, business strategies and financial management, resulting in better alignment between segment, divisional,
and corporate goals. Coordinated mining communities and relevant stakeholders (local government, MMDP, Frontier
Corps, Mines and Minerals Department GoB, relevant government agencies, NGOs and other service providers) for
the development of sound mining to support low-income communities
International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) July 2008 to Dec. 2009
District Coordinator at Royal Netherland Embassy (RNE) funded project “Balochistan Partnerships for sustainable
development” a 7.5 Million USD focused on key components; environmental governance, integrated water resource
and coastal zone management and multi-stakeholder capacity-building for sustainable development. He coordinated
and implemented the project core interventions, multi-years strategic planning “Integrated District Development
Vision” through cooperative agreements with Government departments, non-government organizations, UN agencies
and respective urban and rural communities for sustainable development to overcome the province are highly degraded,
over-grazed, illegal loged and uprooted rangelands, water scarcity and heavy withdrawal of groundwater leading to
ecological disaster and irreparable damage, addressed the key issues that have a direct impact on human well-being
and livelihoods but also the vertical and horizontal linkages and alliances between government, civil society, private
sector and natural resource users. Successfully aware, motivated, maintained cordial relation and assembled the elected
representatives, government and other important functionaries for smooth implementation of IDDV. Advocate and
provided support to develop district management information system.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) May 2006 to June. 2008


Conservation Officer; Quetta, implemented GEF Funded 1.2 Million US$ project Habitat and Species Conservation
in air and semi-Arid regions of Balochistan with the aim to raise awareness of local communities and stakeholders
about biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. His work responsibilities were to prepare plans
for upland, desert and wetland habitats in Qila Saifullah, Noshki and Chaghi Districts. Prepared Land use plan of
Torghar conservancy, Socio-ecological/economic database, need assessments, wildlife surveys, reptile surveys in
Chaghi and Noshki and ethnobotanical/ Medicinal Plants indigenous use book and implemented economic development
plan. To support livelihoods, he undertook CPI schemes, watershed management, check dams, contour trenches,
agricultural innovations, pipelining, improved seeds and advisory services, input supplies, irrigation expansion and
disaster risk reduction activities. NTFPs value chain and trainings, agroforestry, energy efficient tools, and livestock
improvement interventions.

DHV-Netherlands Nov. 2005 to May 2006


Assistant Sociologist, a World Bank and GEF funded project in collaboration with Ministry of Climate Change and
Balochistan Forest and Wildlife Department , a 10.8 Million USD project to achieve the sustainable conservation of
globally and nationally significant habitat and species in Hingol National Park in Balochistan through active
involvement of local communities. This objective is to be specifically achieved through the following interventions: (i)
Protected Area Biodiversity Conservation Management, which includes the following subcomponents: (a) integration
of custodial committees in park management and conservation; (b) preparation and implementation of park
management plans; (c) improvement of park infrastructure; (d) improvement of park operations; (e) baseline resource
inventory, research, habitat improvement and wildlife enrichment; and (f) public awareness and outreach; (ii)
Sustainability of park management; (iii) Human resource development; and (iv) Project coordination and monitoring.

His services were to study human behaviour, dynamics, interaction, and organization in park communities at Gwadar,
Lasbella and Awaran. He collected baseline data through reconnaissance surveys of individuals and groups,
communities, livelihoods, traditions, attitudes, values, and behaviours of people, observation, interviews, and reviewed
of documents to identify problems, evaluate progress. , and determine the need for additional change. Developed,
implemented, and evaluated methods of data collection, such as questionnaires or interviews, methods of social or
economic research, analysed and interpret data to increase the understanding of human social behaviour, group
relations, poverty, and aging. Conducted research on social issues, research on relation of communities towards park
management.
Balochistan Forest and Wildlife Department Aug. 2004 to Oct. 2005
Social Forestry Officer in Public Sector Development Project (PSDP) titled 10,000 Acers Afforestation Scheme in
various areas of Balochistan at Musakhel. His role was to Initiate social process and selection of sites for community
afforestation schemes in targeted communities, collective analysis of community problems, mapping up community
needs and formation of Community Based Organizations/Village Development Committees and mobilize them for
implementation of 10000 Acer Afforestation project in Musakhel District. Identify potential leaders/organizers/
community focal persons/volunteers to work as a participatory by ensuring participation. Performed field research
activities pertaining to baseline, assessments, prepare case studies, & develop quality reports.

World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Pakistan) Jan 2003 to Aug. 2004
Development Officer, in DFID funded project, Environmental Education and Capacity Building Project and facilitated
ECHO –Islamic Relief UK funded Drought Assessment Project, in Balochistan.
As a member of distinguished team, successfully implemented Environmental Education for Sustainable Development
project in Juniper tract Balochistan. Carried out baseline activities and comprehensive field assessments to assess
drought effects on environment, agriculture, livestock, economics, rural and urban livelihoods, water sources and social
impacts direct and indirect in Chaghi and Kharan Districts of Balochistan. Prepared guidelines to combat Disaster, short
and long terms planning, early recovery, relief and capacity building activities that focus on disaster risk reduction.
