Medical Summary
All our donors undergo the following tests and assessments as part of the donor screening
process. If a donor applicant fails an assessment, he is unable to become a donor.
Physical Examination
A specially trained GP examines the donor candidate from head to toe, checking
all body systems, and asks a wealth of diagnostic questions to ensure that the
donor applicant displays no sign of health problems.
Psychological Assessment
The donor screening process takes several months during which we speak to
the donor multiple times. If we experience erratic or aggressive behaviour, we
disqualify the donor applicant.
This donor has undergone genetic screening and chromosome analysis. We have found no
genetic mutations related to any of the conditions listed below, nor any chromosomal
abnormalities. Please note that the genetic screening is not a diagnostic test, so there could be a
small remaining risk of the donor being a carrier.
You can learn more about genetic screening on our website – including your options for
screening your own genes to minimise the risk of genetic conditions affecting your child.

The infectious diseases listed below can be transmitted through sperm, so the donor was
screened for these conditions before being approved to donate. As an approved donor, he
continues to get tested every three months.
If the donor travels to a region affected by a harmful virus like Zika virus or West Nile virus, we
perform additional testing to ensure that he did not contract the virus.

In this section, you can read about the donor’s biological family, including parents,

Donor Bennet has provided detailed information about medical conditions affecting himself or
his relatives.
All medical history information is reviewed by our team of medical doctors as part of the
genetic risk assessment. We do not approve a donor applicant if our medical team deems that
there is an increased risk of future children developing a serious medical condition.
