Mental illness

Mental illness is a general term for a group of brain-based disorders that cause significant

distress and impairment. These conditions include depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety

disorders, and schizophrenia. Mental illness conditions can affect anyone at any time, but they

are more common in adults than children or adolescents. This state is characterized by a wide variety

of mental health problems that influence a person's mood, thinking, and behavior.

A mental disrober can cause a person’s life to be miserable and interfere with regular activities including

work, school, and relationships. Most of the time, a combination of drugs and talk therapy can be used to

control symptoms.

Due to perceived undesirable personality traits or actions, people with mental health issues may

temporarily become isolated from their peers. If the person is unaware of or unable to comprehend what
is happening, they can also result in wrath, fear, grief, and emotions of helplessness. Long-term mental

health issues may lead to suicidal thoughts and actions.

Major Signs and symptoms of mental illness

 Being sad and depressed most of the time.

 Isolation from friends and social activities.

 Notable exhaustion, low energy, or sleep issues.

 Difficulty comprehending and responding to people and circumstances.

 Increased drug and alcohol addiction.

 Decreased school performance, increased absenteeism, and difficulties forming relationships with

coworkers and peers.

 Significant changes in eating patterns.

 Sometimes the signs of a mental illness manifest as bodily issues like headaches, backaches,

stomachaches, or other unexplainable aches and pains.

Treatment and prevention of mental illness

1. Stay physically healthy. Regular exercise can improve your mood, sleep, concentration and can

also make you feel better overall.

2. Take part in a soothing activity such as yoga, meditation, or doing something that you enjoy.

3. Seek for help from a physician or a mental health expert and surround yourself with positive

people.

4. Maintain a nutritious diet to make sure your body is receiving all of the nutrients it needs.
5. Quit or drink alcohol responsibly. When faced with a challenging scenario, turning to alcohol

won't help much, and as it passes off, you might feel worse.

6. Stay in touch with family and close friends by talking to them about your feelings.
