Heroes of myth choice of games walkthrough

Most of the best-selling video games each year star in great men who carry big guns. But wouldn't it be great if more games offered different types of heroes? If they moved away from the entire spectrum of humanity and incorporated characters that best represent the types of people who play games - what at this point
is pretty much everyone? Fortunately, not all games star burly soldiers with itching on the trigger fingers. The titles on this list put younger people in front and center and prove that children have what it takes to play the role of hero. Source: Nicalis, Inc 1. Isaac's Bond When you think of games that star children, it's a safe
assumption that kids are the target audience. Not so with Isaac's call, a demented play about a boy who hears that God spoke to his mother and demanded that she sacrifice him to prove his faith. Legitimately terrified, Isaac retreats to the basement of his home, where he finds walking after walking full of monsters and
traps. Your only weapon? The tears he cries. yes, that's definitely not a kids game. Basement floors are displayed from top to bottom, as are the dungeons in The Legend of Zelda in the NES. Each floor has a randomly generated layout and is filled with enemies and closed with a boss. When you play, you will collect a
number of mysterious items that can have a positive or negative effect on your abilities. You will definitely die a lot in this game, which kicks you back to the beginning. But if you pay attention to the power-ups and get used to the enemies you encounter, you will improve with every attempt. Isaac's connection is not for
everyone, but if you can handle the heavy subject and high difficulty, you may just find it one of the most engaging games you've played in a long time. Source: Nintendo 2. Pokémon All major Pokémon games star a hopeful young man, which probably explains why many people think the series is just for kids (even if it
isn't). All right, because a certain young energy infuses this mega popular and long series. Although the games are colorful and cartunescos, they pack a lot of depth and almost infinite replay value if you want to catch them all. Each game starts with a kid who is just starting with the game world's most popular hobby:
collecting Pokémon. This is your first adventure away from home, so you attack hoping to accumulate a considerable collection of creatures and become the best Pokémon trainer in the world. But when you boil them, the games are really about a child finding a passion and starting to make their way into the world. That's
something we can all relate to. Source: Nintendo 3. Connected to Earth When aliens invade Earth, who do we turn to for salvation? According to Earthbound, our best hope is a group of children. Led by Ness, a 13-year-old with psychic powers, the group travels the world, picking up new teammates along the way, and
collecting melodies that will let them save save human race. It's certain that saving the world is a lot of responsibility for a group of kids on their shoulders, but they're talented enough to do the job. Just remember to call your mom from the road so you don't get homesick (an effect that makes you miss shifts in battle). If
you haven't played this classic Super Nintendo-era RPG game, you can pick it up now on the Wii U eShop. Source: Press Play 4. Max and the Magic Marker The title Max and the Magic Marker basically says it all. This is a side scrolling platform that stars a redhead boy who has a very special drawing instrument. The
levels are more or less impossible to navigate for a normal person, but Max is not an ordinary child. Its magic marker can draw ramps, platforms and other things that it can use to reach crossed edges and wells that would otherwise be impossible to navigate. It's a colorful and fun game that makes you use your brain in a
way that most other platforms don't use. If it sounds like your kind of thing, you can download it on most digital platforms, including PlayStation Network, Nintendo's eShop, iOS App Store and Google Play. Source: Telltale Games 5. The Walking Dead: Season 2 The hero of the first season of this episodic adventure
game was Lee Everett, a convicted assassin with a heart of gold. But the players quickly clung to Clementine, a young woman Lee has known from an early age and who becomes like a daughter to him as they travel the post-apocalyptic country. Season Two continues where the former left off, but with Clementine as
the main character. She is alone in a world surrounded by zombies and desperate human survivors. It's a dark thing, and every time you meet a new group of people, it's only a matter of time before the characters you've come to care about are cut, just like in comics and TV shows. But Clementine is the beating heart of
the series, a girl who shows that rebuilding a new life and civilization from the rubble is a worthwhile effort. Without it, the game would be very different, and probably not so good. Some
children heard that his best friend's cousin found Mew under a truck in Pokemon; others were fully convinced that there was a secret way to find the Triforce in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Before players would come together on the Internet and use their collective and the ability to invade games and analyze
their code, to discard the impossible, any whisper in the school yard could turn out to be the truth. The world of video games is so insular that you would have to be a one gamer even hear certain rumors and myths - the one around a code that revives Aeris in the game Final Fantasy 7 is a good example. Other rumors
are more scandalous, such as that of a cheat code that allows Tomb Raider players to disarm Lara Croft. But the myths of the games go beyond secret characters and gamer gossip. There are myths about games, too - like the idea that games directly cause violence or that only boys play video games. Because these
ideas are funny, intriguing or simply misguided - and because we like to debunk myths - we now present 10 of the most common myths about video games. ContentAs for the silly myths of the video game, this is pretty scary. Around the year 2000, game developer and publisher Electronic Arts began presenting football
players on the cover of their popular Madden NFL game every year. And a strange thing started happening. For several years, almost all the players to grace the coverage of the game ended up getting hurt the following season. Some just delivered bad performances. Famous athletes were apparently hit left and right by
the madden curse. Of course, there is a logical explanation of how the madden curse came to be. Athletes chosen for the cover are always coming off big seasons, and football is a tough game. It happens in the NFL all the time: some athletes turn into weak seasons, and others get hurt. The curse is well known, but that
doesn't mean appearing on the cover of a video game magically causes players to twist ankles. Advertising In 1996, Tomb Raider was a revelation. It was the atmospheric game, full of Indiana Jones-style adventures, that we've always wanted. There were ancient ruins, mythological treasures and dinosaurs. Lara Croft
was the new icon of the game, but this was due to its appearance as much as its game. The buxom adventurer was a strong and independent character, but his design was straight from the male fantasy. Naturally, rumors quickly started flying around claiming that there was a naked code in Tomb Raider that would take
Lara for her birthday suit. The code never existed, but that didn't stop the players from trying. Fake codes and secrets made the rounds on the Internet (in its early days in 1997) and throughout the gaming culture. Tomb Raider actually has codes that players can enter for other purposes, but nothing that leaves Lara Croft
naked [source: CheatCC]. Despite being a myth, the naked Code Tomb Raider is notorious to this day - Lara Croft's status as a game sex symbol has ensured this. Advertising And in the end, the mischievous players had the last laugh. Although there is no nudity embedded in any of the Tomb Raider games, game
modders eventually created nude character models for Lara that could be uploaded to the PC versions of the game. Grand Theft Auto from Rockstar Games has been a controversial series, but scandal broke out around Grand Auto: San Andreas when media attention focused on a mod for the game called Hot Hot
Game modders dug into San Andreas and found an abandoned sex minigame - the protagonist is invited to his girlfriend's house for a coffee, and wickedly follows. Outraged politicians and the media jumped on the game, and the Entertainment Software Ratings Board redecorated the game from Mature to Adults-Only.
Rockstar had to relaunch the game for PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox, and the whole ordeal cost its parent company Take-Two Interactive millions of dollars [source: 1UP]. Now here's the crazy part about the Hot Coffee scandal: almost no one could actually play the minigame. It was not accessible in GTA: SA at all. It
wasn't part of the game. But the contents were still on the disk, and modders found it. Only by modifying the game could players play Hot Coffee. This was not very difficult on the PC, but some real work for the console versions. Advertising Parents naturally didn't care about the distinction, even if games with a mature
rating aren't meant to be played by kids. Rockstar was not the first developer to leave unused code on a game disc, but hot coffee served as a clear warning: Even if it's not an active part of the game, someone will find it. Here's a shock: kids love video games. It's true, it's true! Millions of kids around the world love Mario
and Sonic and Pikachu and the games that have spawned them. But there are many, many more players who grew up playing Mario Bros. and Sonic the Hedgehog - or older games on Atari - which are now adults and still love video games. In many ways, the video game industry has grown alongside them, offering
more sophisticated and violent games like Call of Duty that are similar to r-rated action movies. In 2011, 53% of players fell within the 18-49 age group. And within that range, the average player was surprisingly mature - 37, actually. Casual games, such as Flash Web browser games and Nintendo's Wii Sports and Wii
Fit, have brought older people into the gaming world. Gamers aged 50 and over now account for 29% of the market [source: ESA]. Advertising Only 18% of players are under the age of 18, according to the Entertainment Software Association. There are many games still out there for kids, but the average player has
definitely grown. Video game culture has a reputation for being an indoor nerd hobby -- players sit in their rooms or in their moms' rooms looking at TV day after day, never going out to socialize with their peers. Even though this image may be accurate for some gamers, the antisocial stigma of video game fans has never
been less true. Internet connectivity has been part of PC gaming since the 1990s with online multiplayer games like Quake, and since the release of Xbox Live in late 2002, Internet gaming has also become a great feature on consoles. Thanks to the high-speed connectivity of the Players can play with each other from all
over the world. Some games are even designed for millions of Players. Blizzard's World of Warcraft has over 10 million subscribers paying a monthly fee to log into servers and play in a virtual world populated by other players [source: Gamasutra]. Microsoft's Xbox Live service has 23 million subscribers [source:
Technet]. More and more advertising games are designed with cooperative gaming or competitive multiplayer in mind; Time spent playing games often means time spent socializing. While competitive games also bring a lot of small talk in online communities, online gambling gives players the opportunity to spend time
with distant friends or make new ones. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, the two teenagers who carried out the Columbine High School massacre in 1999 in Littleton, Colo. German Tim Kretschmer, 17, killed 15 people a decade later with moves he stole from the game Counter Strike. When young people engage in violent
behavior, the brutal video games they played before committing their crimes are often cited as reasons for their tendencies. Logic simply follows: violent video games make children violent. This idea remains conventional wisdom, although some studies of children and aggressive video games have become evidence to
the contrary. A 2005 study of people aged 14 to 68 who were invited to play 56 hours of the massively multi-player role-playing (MMRPG) game Asheron's Call 2 in a month found no noticeable change in aggressive behavior among players after the game. Neither researchers increased aggressiveness among players
when compared to the control group that did not play [source: PhysOrg]. Advertising Other studies have come to different conclusions, although some psychologists believe that many studies connecting real-world violence to video games are biased [source: Kierkegaard]. As it turns out, nothing else does to undermine
the notion that video games increase violence in real life than crime statistics. While video games continue to be sold -- sales increased from $5.5 billion to $9.5 billion from 1999 to 2007 -- violent crimes among young people have actually declined. In 1999, 1,763 people under the age of 18 were arrested for homicides in
the U.S.; in 2007, this age group was responsible for 1,063 murders there [source: Safe Youth, FBI]. When the home video game console became widely available in the early 1980s, the games were generally asexual - or at least unisex. Titles such as Frogger, Dig-Dug and Q-Bert did not have any kind of gender bias
and the game was not relegated to boys or girls. As the games became more sophisticated, however, the titles began to lean more towards young males than females. The public perception of video games as an almost strictly masculine pastime still remains; the relative lack of popularity until of the most obvious
effeminate titles underpins this notion. But does the fact that Metal Gear Solid far outperform barbie titles on PlayStation mean that girls just don't play video games? Absolutely not. Propaganda In fact, from January to In 2008, women aged 18 to 45 ranked second only to men of the same age group as the biggest
spenders in the video game industry (37% versus 38%) [source: Lee]. In late 2000, reports surfaced along the vine and mainstream media that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was storing PlayStation 2 systems, which had debuted that fall. More than 4,000 islands arrived in Iraq in just a few months, having
circumvented the United Nations-imposed arms embargo on Iraq more than a decade earlier. Game consoles were, after all, children's toys at their core, so what was the harm? Further down on ps2 stock reports (and often in the headlines) was a more alarming idea - that Hussein valued consoles for their chips. There
was growing fear that the leader had found a loophole in the embargo and was planning to unite 10 to 20 consoles to create a supercomputer powerful enough to guide missile systems [source: ZDNet]. Advertising Reality would hurt that concern almost as quickly as it emerged. Technically, you can connect a number of
PlayStation 2 consoles and use your 128-bit processors together, but it would require exclusive software that Iraq would need years to develop after the PS2 debuts. In other words, the rumor was pure myth. The story was made in Sunnyvale, California's Andy Capp's Tavern on November 29, 1972 [source:
BartonandLoguidice]. Ted Dabney and Nolan Bushnell, two computer programmers who had just founded Atari, had created and unveiled a new arcade game called Pong that night. The game's debut represented the birth of the video game industry, which would reach global revenue of $38 billion just 34 years later
[source: ABIResearch]. The world's first video game was born. Only it wasn't. Pong was born that day, of course, but he already had some older brothers. The common conception that Pong was the world's first video game is actually a myth. Advertising In fact, another arcade game had been released a year before
Pong's debut at Andy Capp's Tavern. Contrary to popular belief, it turns out that the relatively little-known Computer Space holds the title of the world's first arcade game [source: Barton and Loguidice]. It was based on a computer game called Spacewar! which was a bit too difficult for the players, since at that time every
player was a rookie. Pong was a little more the speed of all; its popularity blew the doors of Computer Space and led to the myth that it was the first video game. Sometimes what it seems like a myth is actually the truth. This is the case of the long-standing rumor that there are millions of atari game cartridges buried in
the New Mexico desert. In September 1983, 14 trucks containing something somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 million unwanted - diaded, even - game cartridges appeared in the Alamogordo landfill [source: Snopes]. They dumped their load there and went along their leaving behind evidence of the birth of one of the
first video game rumors. The reason for mass dumping is a matter of public record; Atari's fourth-quarter earnings report for 1982, to be precise. The company had a much worse year than expected, largely because it had bet heamuch on two crucial releases: its home console version of Pac-Man and a game based on
the hit movie, E.T.. Both titles hit so low on the company and the public expected that about 5 million copies of each were returned to the company. Stuck to millions of games, Atari chose to bury them. Unfortunately, nostalgic video game hunters who visit the landfill in search of a souvenir will be very disappointed. The
company had the landfill owners crush the cartridges with a steamroller, and the whole pile was paved with concrete [source: Snopes]. There are many stories around Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
