    How To Survive Oregon

    Brought to you by your friendly neighborhood Craw

    A) Be welcomed! We welcome people enthusiastically, and are very accommodating with our
    information. We welcome old and new just the same, so don't be worried about being a complete
    newbie, you will be welcomed here.
    B) Read the rules! Yes, we know its a long document. Rest assured, most of the most important things
    are in the first few rules. Its just that this server has been around long enough to have had to make
    rulings on a lot of things.
    C) Ask Questions! If you cant find the information in the rules, or don't think it is something we have
    covered already, we have a handy dandy channel all set up for your every question. And don't worry if
    some none-staff pop in too, we're just that friendly and helpful.
    D) Don't be a dick. Don't be any kind of -ist (racist, sexist, et cetera) Real life is stressful bullshit, we
    come here to delve into another world and escape that reality. Just don't be a dick. Hat shit to us. Just
    don't do it. Easy.
    E) Don't be a dick part 2. Please do not come in here acting like you know everything. Even if you're
    an older, experienced ST, we will know that you know that house ruling is a thing and that you should
    expect that some of that has been done here. Our staff is very welcoming of ideas, and very willing to
    talk and discuss. We would appreciate calm discussions and not blowing up and ranting over little
    things. We're over two years old, and have seen enough of that, thank you.
    F) Do not confuse our venue for a v5 venue please. The games aren't similar enough to make these
    assumptions. As an example, we don't have to announce our hunger at the top of posts. Nor is there a
    such thing as 'Predator Type'. We are also not a Requiem, w20, wraith, or hunter venue. Again, ask
    questions :)
    G) Opening and closing scene statements are done with the ` key, which is the same key as the tilde or
    ~ key. The entrance and exit of a character from an existing scene is done the same way. Example:
    `Exit Joe Schmo`
    H) IC actions and thoughts are both done in Italics, and spoken word is to be kept between quotation
    marks.
    I) We have a bot for xp needs! This bot will count your posts made in the IC areas of the server, and
    use that to do magic mumbo jumbo and dole out xp on a two week cycle. Do not cheese the bot by
    making shorter messages in quick succession. It is very noticeable, and will get you talked to.
    J) Remember that this IS a World of Darkness game. Its a world, full of dark evil creatures.
    Sometimes you're one of them. There's blood, guts, and murder. There's depression, secretism, and
    very real madness. Therefore, be careful with your toes, and where you place them. The consequences
    for our mis-steps will be considered half the fun. And retcons will not be handed out lightly.
