    Comics. Deadpool, a character created by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist/writer Rob Liefeld,
    made his debut in The New Mutants #98 in 1991. Deadpool has become one of Marvel's
    most popular and unorthodox characters due to his sardonic sense of humour, fourth-wall-
    breaking exploits, and regenerative healing factor.

    The history of Deadpool is both tragic and unconventional. Wade Wilson was a
    former member of the Special Forces who later became a mercenary. After being diagnosed
    with terminal illness, he volunteered for the Weapon X programme, an experimental
