Good evening to everyone present here tonight.

We praise and
thank God for this beautiful evening, a wonderful opportunity for us
to be together as one big happy family to celebrate the 75 th
Founding Anniversary of our Alma Mater, the QUEZON COLLEGES
OF THE NORTH.

It was 14 years ago when we left the portals of this school, I’m
speaking on behalf of the QCN Alumni Batch 2009…but somehow it
seems our hearts never left. And tonight, that love for this school,
brought us all back here.

I know there are many new stories to tell. Stories that stem from the
different paths we chose to follow, or stories from taking the paths
laid before us not by choice but by the consequences of life. But the
best stories to tell are the same old stories we shared together more
than 14 years ago.

To some of us that ravages of time is evident. We lost some, we

gained some. We may have lost our model-like stature, and in
exchange we gained wrinkles, and extra pounds. Though I can still
see in all of you, your inner beauty beaming through. Yes, we may
have lost our innocence, our youthful vigor and glamour, but we
have gained wisdom, experience and respect in the college of hard
knocks, we called life.

My dear classmates/fellow alumni, as I look into your faces, the

memories are rushing in. It was just like yesterday. I know that not
all memories are sweet. In fact, there are few that are downright
painful. And perhaps, time have partially healed those wounds.
Maybe tonight, we can bring closure to those bitter chapter of our
lives.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody that helped

in organizing, or have contributed time and effort to make this event
possible. I may not be able to thank you one by one but you know
who you are. Please accept my sincerest gratitude. And now, I
would like to personally thank each one of you, for just being here.

I would like also to acknowledge some of our classmates who are

not able to join us tonight for some reason or another, but they did
send their warmest regards. Let us remember them too.

As we spend time with each other tonight, may we share the

wonderful memories we have. Now is the chance for us to forge
friendship ties, to strengthen the bonds of oneness, to relive fond
memories of our sojourn in QCN. Above all, it affords us an
opportune time to renew our pledge of loyalty and commitment to
promote and achieve our Alma Mater’s VISION and MISSION.

In closing I would like to pose a challenge to all of you by

paraphrasing the QCN Hymn which all of you should know by
heart.

Wherever you are based, wherever your life’s work takes you, Keep
the QCN spirit alive and burning bright; Keep the QCN banner of
BLUE and WHITE untarnished and proudly waving high.

So once again, good evening…

Mabuhay ang mga ALUMNI!

Mabuhay ang QCN!
Welcome and warm congratulations to all of you on the occasion of
the 75th Founding Anniversary of your Alma Mater, the QUEZON
COLLEGES OF THE NORTH. There couldn’t be a more timely
occasion for your homecoming if not today which every Quezonian
holds special.

Many of you have carved enviable niches in various fields of human

endeavor, making yourselves respectable and responsible citizens of
your community and country. Each of you has a success story to
tell, a story which will inspire the younger generation to follow your
footsteps or strive to pursue their noble ambitions despite
hardships and difficulties to overcome.

We, your former mentors, feel so happy and proud of the notable
achievements you have attained so far. Your homecoming manifests
your appreciation and gratitude to your Alma Mater for all the good
she has done for you to help you become what you are now.

Once more, I warmly congratulate you for being a part of this

commemorative celebration of an important milestone. Now is the
chance for you to forge friendship ties, to strengthen the bonds of
oneness, to relive fond memories of your sojourn in QCN. Above all,
it affords you an opportune time to renew your pledge of loyalty and
commitment to promote and achieve your Alma Mater’s VISION and
MISSION.

Do I have your promise? I wish you good day everyone. Have a lots
of fun.

Mabuhay ang mga ALUMNI!

Mabuhay and QCN!
Our honored guests, (Ms. Pia Delfina C. Alonzo, President of the
Board of Trustees, other Members of the Board,) Municipal and
Barangay Officials, Fellow Alumni, Members of the Faculty, QCN
PTA Officers and members, visitors, students, friends, ladies and
gentlemen: Good morning.

It is with great joy that we are celebrating our 75 th Founding

Anniversary amidst this very challenging part of our school history.
From the year it was founded way back 1948 when the Lord has
given the vision to our school founder and directress, Ms. Leoncia
Alvarez Alonzo, we experienced how the Lord sustained and
flourished QCN through the years – by His grace alone.

Celebrating foundation day is also a time of looking back at the

past. As the well-known, frequently-said proverb from our National
Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal: “Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa
pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan,” in English
this means, a person who doesn’t know how to look back from
where he came from, won’t reach his destination. We should always
look back from where we started and never forget the persons who
journeyed with us in the past.

Our theme for this year’s foundation day celebration is “Overcoming

Challenges through the Years: Creating Innovation and
Opportunities to Blaze New Paths for Quality Education.” It is a
very fitting theme for a foundation day, especially for an academic
institution like the QUEZON COLLEGES OF THE NORTH.

For the past 75 years, Quezon Colleges of the North hurdled many
challenges and difficulties. QCN has been committed to
accomplishing our mission of providing 21 st century skillful learners
with academic excellence and inculcate spiritual values to become
productive citizen of our country. Hundreds and thousands of
successful stories of our alumni here and abroad are living proofs of
QCN’s dedication and commitment in its mission. These dear
alumni are now key contributors in the society they belong.

Being able to reach 75 years is indeed a wonderful achievement in

itself. In marriage, reaching this far is such a gift that a diamond
was used to represent this occasion. Diamond, as you may all be
aware, is the hardest known natural material on our planet. They
are also known for their durability, clarity, and beauty, all of which
can best describe any relationship that lasted and endured 75
years.

Now that QCN has reached its 7 5th year, I’m sure that this
institution, just like what a diamond is known for, is already
durable, scratch-resistant, resilient, and more importantly, a
precious gem that will keep on shining as a symbol of hope and
inspiration to the many people of Ballesteros and beyond. And
continue to set our lives afire with mission in the service of the
youth in this northern part of the country.

Today, a lot of tangible improvement in terms of school facilities and

student services is truly evident. I commend all faculty members
who have made personal sacrifices in attaining these improvements
in conformity with the DepEd requirements for excellence. In like
manner, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to our
community leaders, to the QCN Alumni Association, both local and
abroad, to the QCN PTA and the whole student body for being part
of the laudable accomplishments.

I urge all concerned who believe in the QCN mission and vision to
sustain, preserve, and safeguard the gains already attained for the
future generations of the youth in our community.

Let’s all have an enjoyable and meaningful 75 th Foundation Day

Celebration. God bless us all!
The 75th Founding Anniversary of QCN calls for a proper celebration
for it signifies another year of commendable milestones. Getting this
far was rough and far from easy. It wasn’t smooth sailing along the
way; however, the Administration and Faculty worked hand in hand
to weather crisis after crises.
