ADMISSION TO DOCTORAL PROGRAM
(On-Campus, Full Time)

First Semester, 2023-24


Dear Applicant,

CALL FOR TEST AND/ OR INTERVIEW

This has reference to your application for admission to the Doctoral Program of the Institute. Your application for
on-campus PhD has been reviewed by the Committee and I am glad to inform you that you have been shortlisted
for test and/or interview. The test and interview are scheduled on July 21, 2023 starting at 9:00 AM. Details of test
(for those with first-degree qualification) are available on the Ph.D. admission website and the admission brochure
available therein. You should bring a pocket calculator, pencil, and pen for use at the time of the written test along
with you. Based on performance in the written test, department may further shortlist the candidates for conducting
interview. Candidates with higher degree qualification will attend the interview directly.
You are required to report in the Admissions Office of the respective Campuses at 8:15 AM on July 21, 2023.
You should be prepared to stay till the evening of July 22, 2022 if you have applied for more than one campus for
admission.

Please carry with you a Photo ID as a proof of your identity as well as all relevant original documentsin
support of your application.
Please note that request for change of campus for test / interview will not be entertained.

Candidates who have qualified for UGC/CSIR NET test for JRF will be exempted* from written testafter
they produce authentic proof of clearing the exam.
*Written test is not exempted in any case for applicants in Department of Management.

In case of selection, you will be finally admitted to the program, subjected to:
(1) You are being found suitable by the admission committee.
(2) You are being found medically fit by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
(3) Submission of following original mark sheets and certificates with photocopy of each:
A. Matriculation/10th pass certificate
B. Mark sheets/Grade Cards for all years/Semesters of the qualifying degree.
C. Degree certificate (if not immediately available, you may submit a provisional degree
certificate issued by the university.)
D. Payment of requisite fees. (Fee details are available on the website)

Candidates who are selected based on the test and/or interviews are offered admission to the on-campus PhD
program. Such selected candidates will be provided bachelor accommodation in a hostel inside the campus.
Selected candidates may also be considered for financial assistance in the form of Teaching/Project/Research
Assistantships. Such candidates will be required to participate in teaching and other developmental programs of the
Institute under the guidance of a mentor. It will be obligatory on the part of every admitted full time student to
undertake 8 to 10 hours (per week) of work as assigned to him/her by the institute.

No TA/DA will be paid by the institute for attending the test and/or interview.

Accommodation to candidates shortlisted for Test/Interview may be provided at Institute Hostel as per the
availability. For Accommodation during July 21-22, 2023, please contact the following, well in advance, during
Office Hours 09:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

General guidelines: (i) Candidates with BE/BTech/BPharm/MSc degree will have to appear for written test and
interview. (ii) Candidates with MPhil/ME/MTech/MPharm or with national level fellowship, such as, CSIR NET-JRF,
DBT-JRF, UGC NET-JRF etc. are exempted from the above test on showing relevant documents.
(iii) All candidates shortlisted for PhD program in the Department of Management will be required to appear for a
test and interview. (iv) Detailed information is provided in the PhD Brochure (including test syllabus) available on
the Admission website. (v) Departments may recommend course work to the selected candidates as required, after
admission.
