Rubrics for Psychiatric Case Study
Situation: You will be assigned in one patient with maladaptive patterns of behaviour and you are required to complete a written case study to highlight the appropriate mental status assessment
(MSA), use of therapeutic communications using the prescribed format of nurse-patient interaction (NPI), identification of highly prioritized psychiatric nursing diagnosis and implementation of highly
relevant interventions to respond to the specific needs of the assigned client. You are required to follow the given format of the case study and submit it two weeks after the last day of clinical exposure.
Task Description: This is the rubrics that will assess the student competency on developing a case study presentation that shows proficiency in applying concepts and principles of psychiatric
nursing that is focus on mental health assessment, documentation of nurse-patient interaction, psychodynamics, psychopathology, identification of Nursing diagnosis and developing nursing care
plan including the documentation of the various psychotherapies.
