Reason For Exam

(MR C-Spine W/O Contrast) SPINAL STENOSIS

Report:
EXAM: MR C-Spine W/O Contrast

INDICATION: SPINAL STENOSIS.

COMPARISONS: None.

TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar, multisequence MRI of the cervical spine was performed

without contrast.

CONTRAST: None.

FINDINGS:
Normal lordotic curvature. No significant lateral curvature. No traumatic
malalignment. No spondylolisthesis. Facet joints normally aligned. No acute
fracture. Vertebral body heights maintained. Normal bone marrow signal
intensity.

Normal appearance of the cervicomedullary junction. Normal signal intensity of

the cord. No intraspinal fluid collection.

Multilevel degenerative findings as follows:

O-C1-C2: Normal atlantooccipital and atlantoaxial articulation. No definite
abnormality of the skull base ligaments. No significant degenerative changes. No
canal or foraminal stenosis.

C2-3: Disc space normal. Posterior elements normal. No central canal narrowing.
No neural foraminal narrowing.

C3-4: Mild disc desiccation with posterior disc osteophyte complex which mildly
indents the anterior margin of the thecal sac. Mild spinal canal stenosis
without neural foraminal narrowing.

C4-5: Mild disc desiccation with posterior disc osteophyte complex mildly
indenting the thecal sac. Mild spinal canal stenosis and mild left neural
foraminal narrowing from minimal uncovertebral joint hypertrophy.

MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING

Report:

C5-6: Small posterior disc osteophyte complex. Posterior elements normal. Mild
spinal canal narrowing. No neural foraminal narrowing.

C6-7: Small posterior disc osteophyte complex. Posterior elements normal. No

central canal narrowing. Mild right neural foraminal narrowing.

C7-T1: Disc space normal. Posterior elements normal. No central canal narrowing.
No neural foraminal narrowing.

Moderate fatty atrophy of the paraspinal musculature. Prevertebral soft tissues

unremarkable. Visualized vascular flow voids preserved. Remaining neck soft
tissues unremarkable. Visualized intracranial contents unremarkable.

IMPRESSION:
Mild multilevel degenerative alterations with posterior disc osteophyte complex
at C3-C4 and C4-C5 mildly indenting the anterior thecal sac causing mild spinal
canal stenosis. No high-grade spinal canal or neural foraminal narrowing. Up to
mild neural foramina narrowing at C4-C5 on the left.
