Narrative Report
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines Calatrava District have their Municipal BSP Encampment 2019
with a theme “Commitment to Excellence”. It was held in Calatrava Elementary School, Poblacion,
Calatrava, Romblon from August 23-25, 2019.

On the first day of the encampment, the boy scouts together with the scouters arrived and
registered at the venue. Then, they prepare for a while for the opening program. The opening program
started with the selected boy scouts performing the entrance of colors, followed by the raising of BSP
District Flag and BSP School Flag. Then the Rededication of BSP Promise and Law follows. The KID, KAB,
and Boy Scouts stated their promises and laws. Our PSDS and LCEB Member, Mr. Baltazar C. Mazo gave
an inspirational talk. Another inspirational message was given by Hon. Marieta F. Babera, Municipal
Mayor, and Hon. Dishan F. Servañez, Municipal Vice Mayor. Sctr. Rodante M. Relox presented the
participants with ___ Scouters and ___ Scouts with a total of ___ participants and he formally declared
the opening of the encampment.

In the afternoon, the KID and KAB have their parlor games. The games for KID are as follows:
balloon race, sack race, driving the pig home, and obstacle race while the KAB have sack race, basket
balloon, centipede race, and shoot the ball. At the same time, the boy scouts have their lectures and
workshop. The Boy Scouts did the base method. The bases were first aid (base 1), smartness and good
orders (base 2), swimming and lifesaving (base 3), knot tying (base 4), and arts and crafts (base 5). This
lecture orients the scouts about craft making, good values, basic commands, and different scout skills on
life-saving. Each patrol moves from one station to another for the lecture. After the reshuffling of
activities, everyone have their dinner and prepared for the next activity.

In the evening is a Search for Mr. Boy Scout where each scout will showcase their talents. The
program started with a prayer followed by an opening remark. Then, the contest proper begins. There
were four different categories where the scouts have to present. These are the following: production
number, ethnic attire, BSP uniform, and Q & A portion. Each patrol also showed confidence in
presenting their talents. The program ended after announcing the winners.

In the second day, the boy scouts have their exercise early in the morning. After that, they
proceed to their rooms for breakfast and prepared for the next activity. The boy scouts then proceed to
their base stations for the continuation of lectures and workshops.

In the evening, the boy scouts prepared their torch for the torch parade. Then a campfire
follows. It begins with a fire lighting ceremony followed by a campfire song. Each patrol showed their
yell and presented their talent. It is then followed by a challenge from Municipal BSP President, Rodante
M. Relox, and the given challenge was bravely accepted by one of the scouts. Next is the awarding of
ribbons to the patrols that were outstanding and had commendable participation during the different
activities. After that, all patrols were instructed to proceed to their quarters and prepare to rest.

On the third day, the boy scouts have again their morning exercise and eat their breakfast then,
prepared for their games which are the following: nito plate relay, action relay, we as one, and
centipede war. Lastly is a closing program. It ended with an inspirational message from Sctr. Rodante M.
Relox then followed by the giving of prizes to the winners and distribution of certificates to the scout
participants and to the facilitators as well. Each scout went home full of knowledge, good values, and
unforgettable experiences during the scout encampment.
