4.6 TRUNK (Link Aggregation Configuration)

About This Section

With the steady growth of network scale, users are raising increasingly high demand for backbone link’s
bandwidth and reliability. Replacing it with interface boards which have higher rate or with devices that have better
performance will result in high expense although it can increase bandwidth.
Link aggregation means several Ethernet physical links are bound together and act as one logical link to achieve the
purpose of increasing link bandwidth. At the same time, these bound links can effectively improve link reliability through
dynamic backup between them.

Configure the link aggregation of OLT uplink port in manual load mode through this task, so as to
improve the transmission reliability of the device.

Chapter 5 ONU Configuration

About This Chapter

This section introduces the management function for onu device ,onu sftware upgrade ,and the
configuration methods for GPON profiles, including DBA profile, traffic profile, line profile and service
profile. The line profile and service profile are used to bind directly to the ONU in the GPON ONU
authentication configuration. The DBA profile and traffic profile serve the line profile and service profile
respectively, and do not bind directly to the GPON ONU.

5.1 DBA Profile Configuration

About This Section

This section describes how a DBA profile can be configured.

Brief Introduction
The DBA profile describes the GPON traffic parameters, and you can specify the fixed bandwidth, the
guaranteed bandwidth and the maximum bandwidth with this profile. Bind the DBA profile so that the
bandwidth can be dynamically allocated, which will improve the upstream bandwidth utilization. By
default, the system contains a total of ten default DBA profiles, numbered 1~10. Default DBA profiles cannot
be deleted or modified. The DBA cannot be deleted or modified once it is bound to a T-cont.
You can bind the DBA profile to the T-CONT of the line profile.
The following example uses an OLT with the IP of 192.168.0.189 to illustrate the specific procedures to
configure a DBA profile with the ID of 11.

Step 1 Go to the device web page at 192.168.0.189.Click the “DBA Profile“to enter the DBA profile list
page in the “onu config”view .

The smallest available number is automatically assigned as the DBA profile number, and it is not
editable. Fill in the following parameters:
DBA profile name (1-31 characters, alphabets/numbers/underscores supported);
Profile type: (type0-type5), based on the different type selected, the editable bandwidth types are
also different, as shown below:
When the DBA profile type is Type0, it means that the profile has not been configured and cannot be
used;
When the DBA profile type is Type1, only the "Fixed Bandwidth" can be configured;
When the DBA profile type is Type2, only the "Guaranteed Bandwidth" can be configured;
When the DBA profile type is Type3, only the "Guaranteed Bandwidth" and "Max Bandwidth" can be
configured, and the max bandwidth must be greater than or equal to the guaranteed bandwidth;
37
When the DBA profile type is Type4, only the "Max Bandwidth" can be configured;
When the DBA profile type is Type5, the "Fixed Bandwidth", "Guaranteed Bandwidth", and "Max
Bandwidth" can be configured. The maximum bandwidth must be greater than or equal to the sum of the
fixed bandwidth and the guaranteed bandwidth. The range for the fixed bandwidth, guaranteed bandwidth,
and maximum bandwidth is 512-10240000, in increments of 512.
Configure profile 12 with the name "TEST", type as Type1, and fixed bandwidth of 512 kbit/s.

5.3 Service Profile Configuration

About This Section

This section describes how a line profile can be configured.

Brief Introduction
Service profiles are mainly used to manage ONU related configuration information, such as the ONU
port status, ONU VLAN, ONU MAC address restrictions, ONU MAC address aging time, and ONU UNI
interface configuration. ONU service-related attributes are integrated in the service profile for
configuration purposes. When working on the ONUs for the same service, it only needs to be configured
47
once, which reduces the configuration workload.
An OLT device can have up to 1,024 service profiles, of which service profiles with number 1~10 are
default system service profiles that cannot be modified or deleted. Once the service profile is bound to the
ONU, it cannot be deleted or modified.
The following example uses an OLT with IP 192.168.0.189 to illustrate the specific procedures to
configure the service profile 66.

Step 1 Go to the device web page at 192.168.0.189.Click the “Service Profile“to enter the Line
profile list page in the “onu config”view .

About This Section

This section describes the routing configuration operation and Vlan interface configuration,query
the static ARP table.

7.1 the Static ARP

Overview
Static ARP entries are manually configured and maintained. They cannot be aged and
overridden by dynamic ARP entries. Therefore, static ARP entries improve communication security.
Static ARP entries ensure communication between the local device and a specified device by using a
specified MAC address so that attackers cannot modify mappings between IP addresses and MAC
addresses in static ARP entries

Step 1 Click "ARP Mgr" In the navigation bar of “L3 Config”function to query the arp address table .

7.4 Route Config

verview
Routing protocols are the rules used by routers to discover routes, generate and maintain routing
tables, and guide packet forwarding. Routes are classified into the following types based on the
origin:

 Direct route: is discovered by link layer protocols.

 Static route: is manually configured by network administrators.

 Dynamic route: is discovered by dynamic routing protocols.

Static routes are easy to configure, have low requirements on the system, and apply to simple, stable,
and small networks. The disadvantage of static routes is that they cannot automatically adapt to network
topology changes. Therefore, static routes require subsequent maintenance

Step 1 Click "Route Config" In the navigation bar of “L3 Config”function to Query route table。
